It all began on the 11th floor of the Omni Resort in Orlando, FL for the All Black National Convention. Jedidiah was waiting for the elevator and I approached him and said "hi, how are you?" in the most bubbly, energetic, "Keisha-like" way. Jedidiah, quite reserved responded "hello, how are you doing?" and we entered the elevator. We spoke about what brought us to the All Black National Convention and when we reached our respective floors we parted ways. BUT...that was not the last we saw of each other. We kept running into each other that day (on our way to registration, looking for a bite to eat, and Jedidiah looking for hair oil lol). The last time we ran into each other for the day was later that night. I was on my way to Speed Dating. Once again I was approaching the elevator and a man getting off the elevator called out to Jedidiah to hold the elevator. I walked into the elevator and there we were again face-to-face. Jedidiah complimented me on my outfit and asked where I was going. I said "I'm going to the Speed Dating event". Jedidiah told me he was going to check out the gym and workout. When we parted ways for a final time that night Jedidiah said to me "if speed dating doesn't work out let me know." The next day we ran into each other again. I had forgotten something for my vendor table and had to return to my room to get it and Jedidiah was on his way to one of the events. This is when Jedidiah asked me out to dinner. I said yes but was confused because he asked me out but did not have my number. "Don't you need my number", I stated matter of factly. Jedidiah laughed and said yes, what's your number. Then I remembered that I was going to the B1 Ball that night and told Jedidiah we could make plans for another time during that weekend. After the day of events, one of which I spoke on a panel about Escaping the Corporate Plantation and Jedidiah attended, Jedidiah sent me a text: Jedidiah: Are you being accompanied to the B1 Ball? Keisha: No, I am not Jedidiah: May I accompany you? Keisha: Yes, you may Once again we met by the elevator, but this time it was planned. It was at the Ball that we realized how much we have in common, how connected we are and I found out how many siblings Jedidiah has. We also had our first dance to the live music of Infinity Song. In that short amount of time Jedidiah spoke life into me and advocated for me when my food order was incorrect. After taking more pictures we decided to call it a night. We rode to the 11th floor and had our first kiss which was the cherry on top of the perfect night. On Sunday, you guessed it, we ran into each other again! We spent some time together at a few events and one attendee even asked if we were married. Jedidiah asked me out to dinner again that night. I was hesitant to leave the resort because this was my first time traveling alone and I promised my mom I would not leave the resort. We ended up having dinner on the resort at David's Club and sat and talked for nearly four hours. We left the restaurant and stayed up talking until I had to leave to catch my flight at 5:00am. This is when we discovered our genuine spiritual connection as if we had met in a past life. I returned to NYC and Jedidiah returned to Phoenix but we didn't let distance or time stop our spiritual connection. There were times we stayed on the phone for 7 hours straight. Jedidiah came to New York for the Christmas holiday to meet my family and I flew to Phoenix with my mom, Aunt Ruth and Aunt Annie Mae to meet Jedidiah's family the 1st weekend in January. We continued our long distance relationship until Jedidiah moved to New York. Jedidiah proposed to me on February 6, 2022. And it was only right that we planned our wedding for 11/11/22.
