Things To Do

Olive & Ivy

7135 East Camelback Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
, (480) 751-2200

One of our favorites! We usually go for happy hour and get some appetizers and drinks. Beautiful patio! Got to try the bacon wrapped dates...so good!

Fashion Square

Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Nothing too special but they have a lot of good stores and high end designers. SO if you are wanting to splurge and treat your self to a new Louis Vuitton...this is where you wanna go :)

Camelback Mountain

Phoenix, AZ 85018

It may be a little too hot for hiking but if you get up early and go it'll be much cooler :) There's two trailheads, Echo Canyon and Cholla. We have only done the Echo Canyon side, there is a parking lot at the bottom with bathrooms and water fountains. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Recommend really good hiking shoes with good tread. I slipped one time doing it with old tennis shoes and cut my shin..scar is still there so hike with caution. They say the Cholla side is longer and there is just street parking. We've never done this side so don't know how it compares personally, looks like you have to walk through a neighborhood to access the trailhead. There are tons of other hiking trails in the area so if you want more recommendations let us know!

Taliesin West

12621 North Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, Scottsdale, AZ 85259
, (480) 627-5340

Tour the home of Frank Lloyd Wright! Really interesting. They recommend making reservations for tours. Might be a good early morning activity as it is outside at some parts and it may be a little hot.

Old Town Scottsdale

Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Downtown Scottsdale...there's so much to do in this area. Bars/restaurants, wine tasting rooms, breweries, small boutique shops, art galleries, etc. It's a fun place to just walk around and explore!

Sedona

Sedona, AZ 86336

About a 2 hour drive from Scottsdale but a super cool town! If you are making an extended trip highly recommend you rent a car and check it out. Brett and I stayed here once at really cute resort hidden in the mountains called Enchantment Resort. There's also the Chapel of the Holy Cross. Also a lot of cool hiking here and it'll be cooler then down in the valley. We also ate a beautiful restaurant called Mariposa. Has amazing views but make reservations because it's popular!

Papago Park

625 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, AZ 85008
, (602) 495-5458

The Phoenix Zoo and Desert Botanical Garden are located in this Park. Haven't been to the zoo but I'm sure the St. Louis one is better :) plus you have to pay for this one. Desert Botanical Garden is really cool! Also there's a rock formation called Hole in the Rock...you can park and walk up to it...really short and easy to walk up to.
