FAQs

The Wedding Website of Alexandra Keir and Connor Denney
Question

When do I officially need to RSVP?

Answer

We will ask for official RSVPs in January 2027! We do ask that if you know you cannot attend prior to this to please let us know.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

There will be a mood board for wedding inspiration closer to the event! The event will be formal. For women, we encourage floor-length gowns with colours suited to late spring and early summer. For men, we are encouraging formal attire of kilts, formal suits, or tuxedos. See kilt information below: Kilts: For those interested in wearing a kilt, we will provide local recommendations where you may rent or purchase formal kilts near where you live. Full formal Scottish menswear includes a kilt (in your chosen tartan), a Prince Charlie jacket, waistcoat or vest to match your jacket, a formal shirt (usually white), tie or bow-tie, long socks (knee-high, typically wool-blend, traditionally cream-colour), and a sporran (the front pouch/chain bag - kilts do not have pockets!) We are obviously happy to help. Connor is learning this, too :) Please note, weather in Scotland can be tenuous and we are planning accordingly. We will have umbrellas for minimal time outside should we need them. The wedding will move throughout various rooms of the estate, but there will be a small amount of time on covered, paved paths outdoors. There will be a coat check and a storage room should anyone like to bring items they do not want to hold onto all night.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Shuttles will pick up from outside our recommended hotels near Old Town, Edinburgh. More information to come! For our local guests driving from within Scotland, you may choose to take our shared transport option from Edinburgh city centre, or you can drive/hire a car to the venue. Parking will be restricted to the back of the house.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Since we are planning our event so far in advance, we recognize that relationships may change. We hope to accommodate as many significant others as possible, but we cannot guarantee we will have the space for everyone as the historic venue has strict capacity. When invitations go out, guests will be named.

Question

Are children able to attend?

Answer

The structure of the wedding and venue is not child-friendly. Should you wish to bring your child to Scotland or this presents difficulty, please let us know. We have several options for local child care.

Question

I have other questions

Answer

Please reach out with any questions or concerns. We recognize that this is a destination wedding for most guests, and this is a more significant ask. If any barrier presents itself, please reach out. We are happy to help in any way we can! Alex (925) 596 0269 Connor (559) 779 7524
