Things To Do

Welcome to the first week of Jazz Fest! In all honesty, you could hang out in and around the fairgrounds and have the time of your life. The energy and activity throughout the streets is nothing short of magical. A time one must experience to truly understand. That being said, we’re so glad to have each and every one of you in our lives. You all hold a special place in our hearts and we’re very fortunate to have you. Alright, enough of that, let’s get to the fun stuff. Here are some recommendations on how to fill the time between wedding activities.

New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc.

1205 North Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

As we mentioned above, the atmosphere surrounding the Fest cannot be describe, yet has to be experienced.

Jacques-Imo's

8324 Oak Street, New Orleans, LA 70118

Take the street car down the historic St. Charles Avenue to Oak Street. Dine at Jacque Imo’s and catch a show at the Maple Leaf.

Royal Street Stroll

214 Royal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Grab a cocktail at the Hotel Monteleone and wander down Royal Street. Stop and listen to street performances, dine at Sylvain (Keigan's favorite restaurant), and walk through Jackson Square. If you’re feeling tired, stop by Molly’s at the market for a frozen Irish coffee.

Bywater

New Orleans, LA

Venture to Bacchanal in the Bywater and catch a show at Vaughns. The Thursday late show is something we cherish and a must in our opinion (bring cash). N7 (our 2nd date spot) – you won’t find many dining establishments as cool as this one. Check out Bud Rips for a nightcap and people watching. Bywater Bakery – without a doubt, the best bacon / egg / cheese croissant you will find (we mean it). Elizabeth’s – if you don’t believe us regarding the bacon / egg / cheese, walk down the street to Elizabeth’s for a brunch you’ll rave about.

Bouligny Tavern

3641 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

Our regular spot for date night.

Stretch Your Legs

6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70118

Need to stretch your legs? Walk a lap at Audubon Park or check out the Sculpture Garden in City Park.

POBOYS

Grab a po’boy at Parasols and explore the elegant mansions that make up the Garden District. Other than Parasols (Garden District), you have our personal favorite Domilises (uptown) and Parkway Bakery & Tavern (Mid-City).

Cochon Butcher

930 Tchoupitoulas Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Arguably the best sandwich shop in New Orleans.

Mandina's Restaurant

3800 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119

Laid-back old-school Creole Italian joint in Mid-City.

The Delachaise Wine Bar

3442 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115

Neighborhood wine bar and bistro along St. Charles Avenue. Another one of our favorite date night spots.

Cure

4905 Freret Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

Upscale cocktail bar along Freret Street. Head to Vals for Mexican or the Husky afterwards for a mouth-watering steak.

La Boulangerie

4600 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115

French bakery you won’t forget.

Port of Call

838 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70116

Feeling gluttonous? Stop by Port of Call at the edge of the French Quarter for a burger and loaded baked potato.
