As we mentioned above, the atmosphere surrounding the Fest cannot be describe, yet has to be experienced.
Take the street car down the historic St. Charles Avenue to Oak Street. Dine at Jacque Imo’s and catch a show at the Maple Leaf.
Grab a cocktail at the Hotel Monteleone and wander down Royal Street. Stop and listen to street performances, dine at Sylvain (Keigan's favorite restaurant), and walk through Jackson Square. If you’re feeling tired, stop by Molly’s at the market for a frozen Irish coffee.
Venture to Bacchanal in the Bywater and catch a show at Vaughns. The Thursday late show is something we cherish and a must in our opinion (bring cash). N7 (our 2nd date spot) – you won’t find many dining establishments as cool as this one. Check out Bud Rips for a nightcap and people watching. Bywater Bakery – without a doubt, the best bacon / egg / cheese croissant you will find (we mean it). Elizabeth’s – if you don’t believe us regarding the bacon / egg / cheese, walk down the street to Elizabeth’s for a brunch you’ll rave about.
Our regular spot for date night.
Need to stretch your legs? Walk a lap at Audubon Park or check out the Sculpture Garden in City Park.
Grab a po’boy at Parasols and explore the elegant mansions that make up the Garden District. Other than Parasols (Garden District), you have our personal favorite Domilises (uptown) and Parkway Bakery & Tavern (Mid-City).
Arguably the best sandwich shop in New Orleans.
Laid-back old-school Creole Italian joint in Mid-City.
Neighborhood wine bar and bistro along St. Charles Avenue. Another one of our favorite date night spots.
Upscale cocktail bar along Freret Street. Head to Vals for Mexican or the Husky afterwards for a mouth-watering steak.
French bakery you won’t forget.
Feeling gluttonous? Stop by Port of Call at the edge of the French Quarter for a burger and loaded baked potato.
