We first met in passing at work when my supervisor introduced me to Miyyah. We exchanged greetings and continued with our lives as if that would be the first and last time we would speak to each other. However, fate had other plans. Miyyah didn't directly work in my department, so I rarely saw her around. Her office was directly in front of mine, so when she came to the building, I would see her. One particular Friday, Miyyah walked in the building at 4:30pm. My supervisor and I were the last ones to leave the building at 5:00pm. She spoke to me and then sat down at her desk. I couldn't help but wonder why she would walk in 30 minutes before we lock the building down to do work on a Friday. Her computer suddenly needed an update that would take a long time, so she asked if she could use my computer. This was her way of flirting with me, although she would never admit it. I let her use my computer. When it was time to close the building, she wasn't finished with her work, being the gentleman I am, I asked if she wanted me to stay. (Secretly hoping she would say no) and she did, so I left and went on to enjoy my weekend. The next day, I messaged her on Facebook to ask if she closed my computer down properly. This led to some small talk, and we exchanged a few laughs. We messaged on and off for the next few months. One day in late December, she randomly messaged me and asked if I had any plans for that evening. We hadn't talked in about 3 weeks, so I was surprised to receive her message. I replied, and she asked me to go see a band that she likes with her. Long story short, we went to see the band, and at the end of the night, she realized that she couldn't live her life without me in it. We have talked every day since. LOL As I recall, I went to the building at 4:30 to quickly use the printer. But of course, on all days my computer needed to update and restart. It was taking forever! Gavin was the only one left in the office, so I asked him if I could use his computer to print. Contrary to what Gavin believes, I was not flirting with him. He wrote me the next day on Facebook Messenger asking about his computer. Now who was flirting with who? Fast forward to late December, I was supposed to go with a friend to see a live band. I was excited until she canceled on me. I asked everyone I could think of to accompany me, and no one was available. I even asked my nephew, but I had a feeling he would cancel on me also. The day of the event, something told me to ask Gavin. I messaged him at 4:00 pm wondering if he was available that night. And the rest is history.
