Independent. Proud. Gorgeous. Adjectives become full sentences when describing her grandeur. Her mere existence lightens the hearts of locals. Just a glimpse of her form and brings a smile to everyone's face. Katlyn remains singular. Tahoma is lovely as well. Katlyn's Recommendation: Literally any opportunity to hike her Alex's Recommendation: Spending time with Katlyn
Home to the Hoh Rain Forest, sparkling vampires, and Hurricane Ridge, the Olympic National Park holds the honor of being where Katlyn and Alex had their first hike together. An hour and a half from Silverdale might be a daunting journey for a short weekend, but with a stop at Fat Smitty's for a burger or Finn River for a cider sure make the excursion worth it. Katlyn's Recommendation: Mt. Storm King hike Alex's Recommendation: Mt. Storm King hike
Walk or drive on to a ferry and explore Seattle! There are several ferries on the Kitsap peninsula that land on the Seattle side - all can be found on WSDOT with schedules! P.S. If you're walking off the ferry on the Seattle side, don't forget to check out the metal work on the foot traffic bridge, courtesy of TIKAR Services. Katlyn's Recommendation: Views of Tahoma Alex's Recommendation: Ivar's Clam Chowder (better than that New England attempt)
Little Norway! From swinging by Sluy's bakery after soccer games on Nanna and Poppop's dime, to the location of several walkable dates, the Poulsbo waterfront and subsequent shopping street is home to lovely restaurants, curiosities, and few art galleries perfect for a morning brunching stroll. Katlyn's Recommendation: Byrdies Coffee Alex's Recommendation: Island Cool Ice Cream (Mora Mora RIP)
What's not to love about a scenic summer drive culminating in a cider flight while you snack on your choice of pizza, Bahn Mi, or pretzel in beer cheese. Finn River makes a damn fine cider selection. Say you're an out of town group looking for a fun place to meet up and reconnect. Consider Finn River for the meet up spot. Katlyn's Recommendation: Black Current Alex's Recommendation: The Tideline
Enjoy fjord like views of the Hood Canal from the only state park in Kitsap County. Quick Beach access, open grassy lawn, and even camping spots upon reservation for those interested in lingering after the wedding. Katlyn's Recommendation: Paddle boarding Alex's Recommendation: Kam Jam
Some might say that the red brick of CKHS was the single greatest germinator and exporter of talent in Kitsap County, and although those people would be right, the Silver City Taproom is a close second. With a flavor for every decerning pallet, SC can parch your thirst and will be amply represent over the weekend festivities so don't feel like you have to squeeze this one in. Katlyn's Recommendation: petting the puppies Alex's Recommendation: Tropic Haze Mark's Recommendation: Fat Bastard (The Magnificent)
