Night at the Peddler’s Daughter

1/24/2020

It was a cold, winter night in Nashua, New Hampshire; where a young lady named Linda, wanted to venture the town with her friend. They decide on an Irish pub on the corner of Main Street, overlooking the moonlit river. As they walk through the door, Linda had instantly noticed a tall gentleman with long, dark luscious hair behind the counter of the bar. Star-struck, giddy with excitement, the girls find a table nearby to wait for an opportunity to approach the bar. The night goes by, and the girls dance to the music until the bar starts to clear. At last, the opportunity arises! A couple of stools open up at the corner of the bar, right in front of the mystery man. Linda finally got the chance to make her move and ask for a drink, just to be told no (due to the fact that he was working as a bar-back, but he knew she didn’t need it). She didn’t want him to lose interest, so she decided to pivot and ask more personal questions - like his name, which turned out to be Michael. The remainder of the night went with easy conversations until the last call was made. At a last hail Mary attempt, Linda had asked Michael “so when do you get off?” Followed by the worst, drunken wink. Michael laughed, looked at her with a smile and asked for her number. And they lived happily ever after. The end.
