The Proposal

4.4.26

With my graduation coming up JT found the perfect time to stage a secret proposal (one where the camera lady (Elizabeth) could hide in plain sight) In the days before our big day I started to get a little suspicious he had something planned that might be more than just a few casual cap and gown pictures. I started to get so excited! I tried to share in my excitement with my friends (also I wanted to see if any of them knew anything) but in order to throw me off they feigned innocence. I would come into class in the morning and talk to Laura Grace about how JT had told me to make sure I liked my hair for pictures and I couldn’t tell if he was just excited for me to graduate or he was keeping a secret. I even asked Shelbi ‘what if tonight is my last night as a girlfriend?!’ But they held strong and didn’t give away a single hint. I told John Thomas the night before I was going to be excited all night long and he told me ‘I am so sorry I don’t even have the ring yet.’ (I knew he had went to look for one but I didn’t know if he had gotten it yet). The next morning at pictures we were the first ones to get there. We were both so excited to see my friends and get some pictures done! The day was going great we started with some cap and gown pictures by the nursing building. After that everyone thought we should go to the rose garden and just take some fun pictures. There is a beautiful white bridge going across the lake that John Thomas said would be perfect for pictures. Elizabeth (the sneaky camera lady) told me to walk across the bridge and she would take some pictures of me walking. And of course when I turned around there he was. And in true John Thomas fashion the ring box was upside down. But it was absolutely perfect. I am so grateful for such a caring man. He designed the perfect ring. It was so gorgeous I had to say ‘Yes!’ before he even finished asking! After some happy tears, it was official. Coming soon… Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Kemp
