No surprise to this day in age, we met online! We met through an app called Bumble. Basically its a dating app, and if you like someone's profile, you swipe right. If you don't, you swipe left. Well, I swiped left and Jordan swiped right (thanks to Duke's cute face & Mark's encouragement - lol ). After feeling a sudden urge to immediately find his profile again, I paid $5 to undo my swipe and switch it to the right instead... I guess he was kinda cute! haha Immediate match! The next day, I flew out to Colorado for a snowboarding trip, and we chatted the entire time. We agreed to go on a date, after I got home. Lets be real, it was the best first date ever! On our way to dinner, he played this old country song, that I swore only I listened to and only I knew all the words to... the second he turned it on and started singing along, I got butterflies. Not only is he signing this song that I thought was mine, but he could sing!! WELL! We went to a local bar for dinner and to our surprise, it was Bingo night. If you know me, you know I LOVE bingo! Jordan, pretending to be just as excited as I was, agreed to stay and play! Of course, he won... not once, but TWICE! Each time, he claimed it was my card and made me go up to accept the award. What a sweet jerk! We played Bingo, sang every song that came on and enjoyed each others company for hours! We had an absolute blast. Two weeks later, I was completely swept off my feet and in love with this sweet southern man!
Another rainy weekend, yuck! Mother’s Day was Sunday, and Jordan had full control of our plans. Being that Sunday was supposed to be the rainest day of them all, he bumped our plans to Saturday! Saturday morning, he packed the jeep and we headed off. With a picnic and chairs in the back, and a beautiful day ahead of us, Jordan drove straight to our favorite winery! What a perfect and relaxing way to spend Mother’s Day with my two boys! We drank wine, played in the field with Jameson, took pictures and enjoyed our afternoon. Jordan suggested we walk up the hill and away from people, to get better pictures of the scenery and so that Jameson could play in the grass. We always explore, so why not!? After snapping a few pictures of the vineyards, I turned back around to get more pictures of he and Jameson... (because I wont ever have enough!) and the two of them, were down on one knee with a GORGEOUS ring box in hand. “Will you marry us?” Needless to say, I cried. “WOAH. Aww - OMG - Yes! - duh!” BEST Mothers Day Ever.
Our love is perfect. Its crazy & spontaneous. Its honest and its pure. Its fun and its breathtaking. Its strong & its constantly growing. Its backwards and its nontraditional. But more importantly, its perfect because its OURS. It is the love that sweeps you off your feet and says “Forever”, from the moment it first touches your heart. My entire life, I dreamt about going down south. About visiting states other than Maryland, Virginia and Florida.... about finding myself a sweet southern man. (SCORE!) A few months into dating, this sweet southern man offered to take me to his home town and introduce me to his family. What better way, then to make a road trip out of it and enjoy every state and every stop on the way! — How many dreams can come true in one single year?!!!! — Tennessee had always been at the very top of my list! Without batting an eyelash, he said “ok, then lets go!”. Spontenuisty and exploring, my two FAVORITE things in this life. We stopped in Nashville and although we didn’t have long, we enjoyed every minute of it! The south was exactly as I dreamt it would be! We swore we’d be back. The following year, we spent our Babymoon in Gatlinburg, TN. It was gorgeous and relaxing. This is when we decided we wanted to get married! We didn’t have all of our paperwork with us at the time, but we knew from then on, Tennessee was “our state” and the place we would one day, have our wedding!
