I'm always shocked at the two people I see in pictures from when we began dating. I just see two kids who hardly understood themselves, no less the world or how relationships work. They certainly had no idea on where their lives would lead or the commitments they would make.
But I'll admit it, at 21 and 22, we are still so young. We hardly know what we are doing, and I sometimes can't believe I found my person this early in life. Yet somehow, the girl who wanted to travel the world and man who was going to conquer everything sacrificed parts of their ambition for something greater:
They chose to lay a foundation with someone who wasn't afraid to grow alongside them, who fell in love with them as they were finding who they were in this world. And because of our youth, we get to grow together from some of the first moments of our lives, and I thank God every day for it. And honestly, it amazes me that I haven't known him my whole life, because my soul certainly feels that way. - Emily
