In my quest for the perfect engagement ring, I sought Keenya's opinions on various designs and shapes. Unfortunately, she wasn't much help in that department. Nevertheless, I persevered and found what I believed to be the ideal ring. Deciding on the right time and place for the proposal was no easy task. After consulting with my friends (thank you for keeping the secret), the ring even journeyed to Seattle, Washington, in December. However, due to the freezing temperatures and distance, it proved too difficult to find the perfect location there. So, I returned to California, for there is no place more magical than Disneyland, and Keenya and I share a deep love for all things Disney. Hence, I chose to propose in front of the majestic castle. On that fateful day, Keenya had no inkling that I was about to pop the question. My friend Shawn and I had orchestrated a plan. As we arrived at Disneyland, Keenya, unknowingly, did everything possible to avoid the castle—riding attractions and searching for churros. Eventually, I convinced her to take a "photo" in front of the castle. Let me tell you, keeping the ring hidden during roller coasters and other adventures was no small feat. As I gathered the courage to ask for her hand in marriage during this seemingly innocent "photo" moment, Keenya wanted to be close and affectionate. Stepping back, she initially thought I was playing a prank, but her joyous expression turned to pure elation as the ring emerged. In her excitement, she even grabbed the entire ring box instead of just the ring itself. And, of course, the answer was a resounding yes!
