FAQs

If you have any other questions other than what we’ve listed here, please reach out to Amy or Keenon.
Question

How should I travel to the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We'd recommend driving in a personal/rental car (carpool with other guests if possible!) There will be parking provided at both locations. You can also Uber/Lyft if you prefer.

Question

Where should I park for the ceremony?

Answer

PLEASE ARRIVE 30 MINUTES EARLY TO ALLOW AMPLE TIME FOR PARKING AND WALKING TO THE CHURCH! There is a map in your invite with parking locations! Permit parking (i.e., “A Permit” or “C Permit”) spaces are not enforced anywhere on Stanford campus on weekends, so parking is free anywhere on campus. We'd recommend parking at the Palm Drive Oval or at Tresidder Memorial Union, as these are the closest lots to the church. The walk from either of these lots takes about 10-15 minutes, so make sure to budget some extra time, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 3pm! For guests with mobility concerns, there is limited parking in the gated area behind the church. Please reach out to Amy or Keenon if you think you won't be able to make the walk.

Question

I’m taking an Uber/Lyft to the ceremony, where should it drop off?

Answer

At the top of the Palm Drive Oval. On demand ride services (such as Lyft or Uber), rideshares and taxis may drop off at The Oval but may not linger. Prolonged unloading is not allowed in The Oval.

Question

Where should I park for the reception?

Answer

There is ample parking at Los Altos History Museum. You can park right outside, or in the nearby lots for the Library or the Community Center.

Question

How do I get to Stanford Memorial Church?

Answer

From Highway 101: From Highway 101 take University Avenue exit west toward Palo Alto. Proceed on University Avenue through downtown. University Avenue becomes Palm Drive. Continue on Palm Drive until the street ends on “The Oval” – a large grass area in front of the Stanford Quad. From Highway 280: Take Sand Hill Road exit toward Menlo Park/Stanford. Continue east on Sand Hill Road for about 1.5 miles. Turn right on Santa Cruz then make an immediate left onto Junipero Serra Blvd. Proceed 0.5 miles and turn left on Campus Drive. Continue around the Campus Drive loop for 1.7 miles. Turn right on Palm Drive. Continue on Palm Drive until the street ends on The Oval. From El Camino Real: From El Camino Real turn west onto Palm Drive/University Avenue towards Stanford University. As you enter the university, University Avenue will turn into Palm Drive. Continue on Palm Drive until the street ends on The Oval. From the Oval, walk up the steps into the Stanford Quad.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Most likely sunny and hot during the day, chilly at night. You can expect the temperature to be in the low 80s during the day and 50s-60s at night. The ceremony will be indoors and the reception has plenty of shade, but you might consider bringing sun protection just in case.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Garden Party. Examples include: suits, sports coats, dress shirts and slacks, or button-downs with khakis or chinos; nice sundresses, cocktail dresses, or dressy separates, with dressy sandals, heels, or flats. Remember to bring a light jacket or shawl in case it's chilly at night.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If when RSVP-ing on the website, there is an option for “and Guest,” then yes! If not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

Can I take photos?

Answer

At the ceremony, please leave that to the experts! Photos aren't allowed in Memorial Church. Feel free to take photos at the reception.
