Question

Do we have to stay at a Disney hotel?

Answer

You are welcome to stay anywhere you want! There are plenty of hotels surrounding Disney World. However there are many perks to staying on property such as extra time in the park and transportation to and from the parks. We will dive into more of these perks as Disney World starts to reintroduce them.

Question

How much are the hotels at Disney World?

Answer

They range from $229 a night to over $3,000 a night! Disney has 4 different resort categories. Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and DVC Villas/Suites. They even have a campground if that’s more your thing.

Question

When should I book?

Answer

NOW! The earlier you book the more you save. We are using My Path Unwinding Travel and STRONGLY recommend that you book with them as well. They will be able to book for you so you don’t have to do it yourself. Select resorts are already completely sold out! Please book as soon as possible so we are able to celebrate with you 😊

Question

How long should I stay at Walt Disney World?

Answer

That is completely up to you! We recommend coming the day before the wedding and leaving 2 days after so you can attend our ceremony and dessert party, unless you and your family would like to experience the parks on your own. If you do want to experience the parks we recommend staying for at least 5 nights. Reminder: there are 4! different parks to visit at Walt Disney World.

Question

Will I need to have a park ticket to attend your ceremony or dessert party?

Answer

Nope. Our ceremony will take place at the Boardwalk Resort. For the dessert party and fireworks, all you need to do is be at the International Gateway on time. There will be an event guide escorting us through the park to our private viewing location.

Question

How do we decide which type of ticket to get?

Answer

Disney offers a variety of options for theme park tickets - single park tickets, park hopper tickets, and park hopper plus tickets. Single Park Ticket: This ticket option will allow you to enter only one park per day. If you're new to Disney and will not be staying a long time, this would likely be the best option as you won't want to waste time traveling between the parks. Park Hopper Ticket: This ticket option will allow you to enter more than one park per day. If you've been to Disney before or are staying longer, this option is nice because you can change parks as you'd like, whether it be due to larger crowds or the desire to have dinner in a different park. Keep in mind that the price per day decreases the longer you stay!

Question

What reservations do I need to make ahead of time?

Answer

Walt Disney World is currently operating using a Park Pass System to manage the capacity restrictions they have in place for your safety. This means after you purchase your ticket you must “reserve” what park you will be visiting on each day. A park reservation must be made for each day of entry. If you have a multi-day ticket, you will be required to make a park reservation for each date of your visit. We highly recommend that you make your park reservation as soon as you complete your ticket purchase, as availability can change until the reservation is finalized. For more information about the Park Pass System please visit Disney's website: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/experience-updates/park-reservations/. In addition, Disney guests may make dining reservations 60 days in advance for up to 10 days of the stay. Reservations can be made either by calling (407) WDW-DINE, online, or through MyDisneyExperience. Karen will also be able to assist with this if you booked with her!

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are very adamant about having an unplugged ceremony. We have invited all the close friends and family that we want to celebrate our day with. We want you to fully present and take in our celebration, and that includes sharing your beautiful faces (not your devices). We've chosen to work with incredible photographers and videographers whose sole purpose is to capture the magic of our event. So we please request that during the ceremony, first dances, and speeches you turn off and put away all your devices, sit back, relax, and let the professionals do their thing. After the ceremony you can pull out those devices and click away! We cannot wait to see the fun moments you capture from this magical night. Feel free to share with us on social media and use our hashtag #KeeneAboutNewman

Question

Is Mickey Mouse going to be the officiant?

Answer

No, that’d just be Goofy.

Question

Are you still going on the cruise?

Answer

Yes! And if you and your family are up for it we would still love for you to join us and continue to celebrate and party with us on the cruise.

Question

What is a dessert party?

Answer

This is going to be a less formal, more fun VIP experience in Epcot rather than a traditional reception with a DJ and dancing. We will gather at the International Gateway entrance to Epcot where a Disney guide will escort us to our private venue. We will munch on snacks and desserts, mingle, and enjoy a first class viewing spot of the brand new firework show in Epcot- Harmonious.

Question

What is the My Disney Experience App?

Answer

The My Disney Experience App is the one stop shop to help plan your Walt Disney World vacation. From booking dining reservations, to park passes, to Genie+ selections. Once you begin your vacation it can act as your personal guide with park maps, attraction wait times, and entertainment offerings. It's best for each person in your party to have their own account, but parents can create and control accounts for their little ones. Be sure to download the app and play around with it before you begin planning.

Question

Do I need a car to get around Disney World?

Answer

If you're staying on property, you don't need a car. Instead, you'll utilize the free transportation that is available from your resort hotel to Disney Springs (previously named Downtown Disney) and the parks. The buses don't go between resorts so keep that in mind but you can transfer. If you are staying off property, look to see if your resort offers a shuttle to the parks. If you are not planing on visiting the parks and are only going to be joining us for the ceremony and dessert party, we recommend using an uber/lyft/taxi to get to and from the events.

Question

What are Disney’s COVID-19 safety protocols?

Answer

Safety is our #1 priority, and so is Disney’s. That being said, Disney is constantly updating their safety protocols in line with the CDC recommendations. Make sure to visit Walt Disney World’s Know Before You Go page (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/experience-updates) to stay updated on the current safety protocols. We highly recommend that anyone who is physically able to become fully vaccinated before traveling for our event do so. We love you all and want to make sure you all stay safe and healthy! ❤️

Question

How do we book the cruise?

Answer

We will be using Karen Shelton with My Path Unwinding Travel to book. Please see above for contact info. She will be able to ensure that you book the right cruise, cabin, dining, excursions and anything else that you may need. Contact her today to start talking about which cabin will be best for you and your family. And don’t forget to mention you are a guest of the Keene-Newman wedding!
