Our Favorites for First-Timers

The Boardwalk | Riverwalk

Stroll along the riverwalk for great views, with many stops along the way to grab a drink or bite to eat. Tiny Tapp is one of our favorite stops!

Chicago Line Cruises

A unique way to learn the history of Chicago and its famous architecture from below, on the river. Hannah's favorite building is the Carbide & Carbon building (famous for looking like a champagne bottle) and Keenan's is the Trump Tower (which you can grab drinks on its rooftop bar after). Take the tour and let us know your favorite!

Lincoln Park Zoo

Chicago's free zoo is a great way to spend the afternoon. Make sure to check out the Gorilla exhibit. Fun Fact: Hannah's first internship was at a zoo in high school where she found her love for event planning.

Check out the views

Hotel Lincoln (iconic hotel with great views of Lincoln Park and the Lake), Cindy's (great brunch with views of Millenium park's Bean and the harbor) and Hancock's Cloudbar (a local's trick to take in the views without paying the 360 Chicago Experience... instead buy a cocktail and enjoy both a beverage AND the view).

Pequod's Pizza

Just rated #1 Pizza spot in the US on Yelp - Pequod's is the local's spot for deep-dish pizza! Will absolutely rival Lou Malnati's, Uno's, Giordano's or whatever other pizza chain you think of when you're told to try deep-dish in Chicago.

Sluggers World Class Sports Bar and Grill & Dueling Pianos

A classic Cubs fan staple, equip with batting cages, skee-ball and dueling pianos! Not ready for the party to end, Friday? Join us here or a bar nearby after.

Kingston Mines

$20 Admission: A must-visit Blues Club, like no where you've been before. A great choice if staying in town Saturday night.

Our Favorite Restaurants

The Publican

Our favorite restaurant to go with a big group of friends or family. Their chicken, BBQ carrots, and well, literally everything on the menu is incredible and best shared family style. Enjoy a pint, too, in this German beer hall-style restaurant in Fulton Market.

Cabra

Part of the famous Chicago restaurant group that also runs Girl & the Goat, Little Goat Diner, and Duck Duck Goat (all great and recommended), Cabra (Spanish for goat) is a great place for tapas-style Peruvian. Fun Fact: Keenan and Hannah both minored in Spanish

Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba!

Our favorite Spanish Tapas (in case you forgot, we both studied abroad in Spain...). Tasty and affordable for a large group, even once you've gotten many pitchers of Sangria.

Small Cheval - Wrigleyville

Located throughout the city, a fast hamburger spot that is delicious and affordable. A staple for Hannah and Keenan before catching a Cubs game.

Our Favorite Neighborhood Bars

The Reveler

Chicago's new Gamecock bar! A great spot to cheer on the Gamecocks against Alabama on Saturday, October 12th. Join us there!

Diversey Driving Range & Mini Golf

Located right near the lake and harbor, grab a bite / drink at the outdoor beer garden (Bacino's Italian Grill) before checking out the mini golf next door. A frequent Sunday Funday activity for Hannah and Keenan (+ friends).

Local Dives

Sheffield's Bar & Grill, Wills Northwoods Inn, and Marquee Lounge are 3 of our most frequented, casual bars in the Northern neighborhoods.

Grizzly's Favorites

Green City Market Lincoln Park

Open on Saturday until 2pm - You'll find a great variety of vendors! Grizzly enjoys taking long walks here, which end with a fresh bag of treats!

Cafe Deko

Our neighborhood coffee shop with a walk-up window, always ready to give Grizzly a treat. Rated a top coffee shop in Chicago!

Lake Michigan Beaches

While Montrose beach is Grizzly's favorite spot to run off leash, Diversey and Fullerton beaches are great options to take in the Skyline closer to Wrigleyville!

Chicago Marathon

If still in town on Sunday, October 13th, be sure to watch some of the runners in the Chicago Marathon! They'll be hard to miss as many roads will be closed. Grizzly loves watching races from the sidewalk and trying to run alongside Keenan for his races (no Marathons yet - but he has done a half!)
