A little love story

Who would have thought over 8 years ago, Doncaster town would have played the role of Cupid. Coming from two different villages at the opposite ends of town, one night in October 2016 while partying in the early hours, drunk Keenan met party hard Ellie in Kooky's night club. From that night, who would have guessed, they would go on to travel thousands of air miles across the world exploring different countries and cultures and making memories together. From the cities of Italy to the Caribbean islands, the one holiday that stood out the most was obviously..... South Africa! Where both of their lives would change forever. Flying 11 hours from London Gatwick down to Cape Town International. No one would have guessed Keenan would have a little surprise waiting for Ellie on the day they land. 23.01.25 - In the disguise of 'What better way to see the city of Cape Town' Keenan convinced Ellie to go on a helicopter ride. Ellie didn't know what was awaiting her as the helicopter came into land. An anxious Keenan spotted two groundworkers running out with a sign 'Will You Marry Me?' (as planned), while an oblivious Ellie relaxed absorbed the beautiful mountain views for the last time in flight. For what felt like an eternity to Keenan, finally the silence through the headset was broken by squeals of 'IS THAT FOR ME' over and over followed by a bundle of yes's, until she started to sob. Quickly, Ellie grew inpatient demanding the ring on her finger inside the helicopter but Keenan refused to do so - As he wanted to do it the traditional way. Once the helicopter was safe to disembark Keenan, with sweaty palms, got down on one knee and tried to speak the words ' Ellie Mae Bailey, will you marry me?' but of course, the stutters got the best of him. Once the words eventually came out, Ellie quickly and easily said 'Yes'. With excitement and shakes, Keenan tried putting the ring on Ellie's finger until she burst out with 'You do know that's the wrong hand' followed by a little giggle. A photoshoot later- which was a dream for Ellie but quite the opposite for Keenan, they then was shown into hanger where a bottle of bubbly (first of many) awaited them.
