No matter who we talk to, everyone always has their own opinion on how long we, Matt and Keely, have actually been together! “Well they started dating in... ”yea but then he moved to… where’d he move again?!... ”then they were back in NYC, and I think they were together that time I saw them in 20 something, but who knows…” Well it’s our turn to set the record straight, so please join us September 3, 2021 when everyone is on the same page as we start the next lifetime together. Come to think of it, there’s a short version and a long version of our story. The short version goes like this, we started dating in June of 2004, went through normal relationship trials and tribulations and here we are writing this in the winter of 2019 preparing for a wedding in the fall. Now that that’s over, let’s grab a drink!! Unfortunately, it wasn’t that easy. The long version, if written on paper would kill a small forest, so we’ll try and be as quick as possible. It all started on a balmy winter evening in 1990...nevermind, we digress. If you don’t know, we’re from the same two stop-light town of Clinton, NY and if we said we didn’t know each other growing up, we’d be lying. There’s three years separating us, so as you can imagine, Matt didn’t want to look like a major creeper and waited for Keely to graduate highschool in 2004 before he asked her out. Timing was terrible, as that fall Keely went to North Carolina for her maiden voyage upon Elon University and Matt back to Oswego State for his final hoorah. (...continued below)

Young love, however, couldn’t keep us apart, as we managed the long distance thing and started another chapter in the NYC area, and if we’re not mistaken, this should bring us to 2008. Both of us not only had dreams of one day ending up together, but also personal goals that couldn’t be denied. Keely, aspirations of the big stage and Matt, golf at the highest-level. As both of us worked hard to obtain those goals through 08’-11,’ it eventually took us separate paths and to different parts of the world, no longer together. Our travels took us to some of the most unexpected parts of the United States and even through the waters of the Mediterranean. Now 2011-2014, are coined, by Matt as “The Struggle.” He can’t recall if it was because he missed Keely so bad or that he couldn’t seem to break par on a consistent basis, but let’s just call it a heavy combination of both! On the surface, you may see it as failure as we both ended up back in NYC from 2013-2017, now working in different industries with different goals in life. Or as we have come to call it, through much reflection and luck, fate. For two young adults with no life experience, life in the palm of our hands with big dreams and no physical barriers holding us back, the only thing that could explain how we ended up back together was fate and the love and experiences we shared all those years prior. The field trip, though, doesn’t end there, as we trudged west to Los Angeles in 2017 against Matt’s wishes and better judgement per usual. Finally together under one roof in the same town! So this goes back to the initial question, “How long have Matt and Keely been together...not sure you have been keeping track during this novel, and not sure we have either?! But, we think it's either a total of 15 years, or it’s been 6 years if we started over in 2014? All we know is that we’re truly happy to make it official come September and to celebrate with each of you that have joined us somewhere on this ride.
