Our story is not as romantic as some but is truly special to us. We met during the summer before heading into our freshman year of college via our freshman Facebook group. If any of you are Johnson people then you understand the importance of clarifying a couple of things. 1.) We were not a Royal Welcome couple 2.) We were not a Genesis Weekend couple. In all seriousness, I (Emma) decided one evening to add my bio to the Facebook group like most others had at that point. In this bio I said a little bit about myself, added some photos and put my other social media info in there just to be safe. Not too long after posting this I received a snapchat from none other than Jacob Keeling. He sent a long paragraph saying who he was and that he "was just trying to get to know everyone in the group." Two or three nights later we talked on the phone for the first time and stayed up till 4 AM and ended up falling asleep still on the line. A few nights after that we decided there was no point in waiting till we got on campus to make things official, so he asked me to be his girlfriend and the rest is history.

Going into the summer of 2023 we both knew we would be ending the summer engaged. I (Emma) started July off with two weeks of church camp as the youth intern at Northview. While at 5th grade camp I got a text from a couple friends asking if I wanted to dress up and go out to eat. I was suspicious, but was down for a good meal and a cute look. Honestly, I was convinced until my mom and sister acted so chill about the weekend ahead. On the 14th mom and I went to shop for a dress because I left all my nice clothes at my host families house and needed one. That evening mom ran to Muncie for an appointment which added to my doubt about it happening. After dinner Lexi asked if I wanted to go and get pictures while we were dressed up. So we went out to the pond and took a couple, then walked around the corner and there he was. I even called him a fibber for saying that he would not see me until late that night. I said, "Yes!!" and then got to celebrate with my family. All that being said we are so pumped to see you all in August and even more pumped to start the next chapter of life together!
