In the twenty years since, we both experienced life changing love with our late spouses, Amy and Jimmy where we had fallen in love in an instant. We also experienced losing our spouses in an instant. Even after we lost our spouses, we continued our friendship in text and phone calls until one day earlier this year, in an instant, Randy decided he and his kids were going to visit me in Arkansas for a much needed getaway. An old friend wanting to escape town for a quick trip led to a magical weekend that changed our lives yet again in an instant. After the trip, came the phone call from Randy asking, “Is there something more between us?” It was undeniable and a few days later, he and the kids were back in Arkansas for another magical weekend. Life for us forever changed again in an instant. In September, Randy surprised me with a getaway to Breckenridge, Colorado, where he changed our lives again in an instant when he dropped to one knee and asked me to be his best friend, second mother to his children and his wife. Instantly, I said, “Yes.” While life changes in an instant, our past remains with us. Our hope is that our story shows you that your heart is big enough to embrace both your past and your future. Both of us had incredible marriages and never imagined we would find another profound love story. We believe that Jimmy and Amy helped us muster the courage to come together, knowing we could build an incredible love story and a bright future. We find that by loving each other, we can also honor them. We are not promised tomorrow, so we love with all our hearts.
