Things To Do

Old Town, especially the Waterfront, has been a special place to us since we moved to Arlington in 2020. We love taking walks along the water, people-watching in the parks, and admiring the houses. Please enjoy exploring on your own, and here are some recommendations to get you started!

Old Town Books

130 South Royal Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

A great independent bookstore with great staff picks and an added children's section. Purchasing something and want to give us a little free wedding gift? Give Keegan's name when they ask if you have a rewards account.

Happy Place

105 South Union Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

A shop bursting in pink, purple, and blue, great for browsing, gifting, and a silly little dopamine boost.

Torpedo Factory Art Center

105 North Union Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

Converted factory hosting art classes and open artist studios. Keegan has taken drawing classes here. (Fun fact: we briefly considered this as our venue!)

Westpost at National Landing

1201 S Joyce St, Arlington, VA 22202

In Arlington. This is the little "town square" by our apartment. Covered in turf and ample seating (or a skate rink, when it's cold enough), we love to sit here with a bubble tea and people-watch at the end of the work day. Favorite restaurants include: Bees & Tea (try their matcha soft serve!) Origin Coffeehouse Pink Saffron (Cheeky) Nando's

Misha's

917 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

Cozy local coffeeshop, where we had our first "wedding planning date."

Turkish Coffee Lady

1001 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

One-of-a-kind coffee/tea spot, with Turkish Delight that *will* actually make you empathize with Edmund from the Chronicles of Narnia. Location of our second wedding planning date.

ESP Tea & Coffee

1012 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

Cozy and colorful, with a playlist and vibe that make us feel 16 again. Reminds Mollie of her hometown. This is where we had our third wedding planning date, and we recommend the chai.

Mai Thai Restaurant

6 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

Our favorite waterfront dining option!

Alexandria Bier Garden

710 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

A surprisingly unique German restaurant with a rotating menu.

Francis Hall

699 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

Come enjoy this cozy speakeasy inside Hotel Heron. (And participate in a DC tradition--the speakeasy that isn't all that hard to find.)

Good Fortune

699 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

This rooftop bar on the top floor of Hotel Heron is opening for the season on our wedding weekend!

DAIKAYA

705 6th Street Northwest, 2nd floor, Washington, DC 20001

The Izakaya on the 2nd floor is one of our favorite places to go for a special dinner out. We'll say it time and time again--DC is a foodie city! Try the mushroom skewers and the cacio e pepe udon.

il Canale

1065 31st Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20007

Real Neapolitan pizza (with gluten free options)! This is our go-to for celebrations. Go early or make a reservation though--it's very popular on weekends.

Saigon Saigon

1101 South Joyce Street, Arlington, VA 22202

Our favorite neighborhood restaurant. We order from here almost every Monday. A vegetarian Banh Mi for Keegan, and a Lemongrass Tofu Vermicelli (with ginger sauce instead of fish sauce) for Mollie.

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

102 South Patrick Street, Alexandria, VA 22314

No explanation needed here :)
