Celebrate

One hot summer night in early September, a man and a woman met on the patio of a restaurant by the river. The river gave off a cool breeze as these two strangers talked and sipped chilled cocktails. Keegan couldn’t stop smiling. Emily could not take her gaze away from his baby blue eyes. They kept sipping, and continued to talk until the sun set down over the Willamette River turning it in a mirror of orange. While the sun sunk behind the trees of green something was sparking between the pair. They weren’t done with their evening, they wanted, no, needed to continue this connection. The date lasted well into the evening and as they said goodbye, they made plans for the next evening, and the next, and the one after that until they could no longer keep track of the days, months, and even the years they suddenly planned to spend together. They knew that night was the start of something special. It was Emily and Keegan, hand in hand, together, now, and forever.
