We met at a transitional time in both of our lives. Anna had just finished a year and a half of teaching English in Thailand and was enjoying her last hurrah of leisurely travel around the country she called home. Keegan had just matched into residency and was ticking off a bucket-list rock climbing trip in Railay. Anna had already visited Tonsai beach a week earlier, but for some reason felt compelled to go back and climb once more before leaving. That intuition landed us in the same hostel: a shack crammed with bunk beds and an overflowing shower clogged with sand. Being the gentleman he is, Keegan offered Anna the first shower. She would later admit to seeing him earlier that day on the cliffs along the beach, in his natural state: climbing. A couple of all-nighters later, chatting over green curry and Singha beer, we had a plan to rendezvous in Bangkok. After a third evening, this time over White Russians and a Thai U2 cover band along Khaosan Road, we were convinced we had something special. We enjoyed adventuring together and didn't want it to end so we promised to see each other stateside. The rest is history!
