Tay and I’s story starts way back to our 1st grade year. You see, I had a slight crush on Taylor, so I did what any 7-year-old hopeless romantic would do when love struck by a cute little red head…I brought her flowers. I brought her two roses that I was sure would win her heart over, but sadly nothing came to fruition. The next year we entered 2nd grade where we began honing our reading and math skills, while I made a few more attempts to tell Taylor I liked her. Math was never my strong suit and my addition skills seemed to be off by quite a bit because contrary to my calculations Taylor’s final answer seemed to be Keaton + Taylor = Not a Chance. Through high school, College, and other relationships Taylor and I found ourselves running into each other at the bookstore on Indiana University’s campus during our sophomore year of college. We got to talking, which sparked us hanging out much more often. I did not quite know it then, but after only a few more weeks we both started to realize how deeply we cared for one another. Over the next few years Taylor and I had some amazing times together. The Hall family vacation to Hilton Head was very special as I had put together a plan to have my family come out to Hilton Head and everyone meet near the beach around the time the sun was supposed to set. I walked out on the beach insisting to Taylor that I had to get some video for a new website I was working on. Once on the beach, I asked Taylor to face forward for the video until I told her to turn around. When she turned I was on one knee and had a small gift for her in my hands. Laughter, some Tears, a handwritten note later, she did in fact agree to spend the rest of her life with me! I guess the 1st grade version of myself really knew what I wanted. It may have taken 14 years or so, but I finally got to call that cute little red head my girlfriend, then my fiancé, and now coming up shortly my wife.
