We met through mutual friends at Yogi Bear campground. Immediately following introductions, Keat smacked his head on the camper ceiling, and he has been making me laugh ever since. During our short camping weekend, 15-year-old Keat made it apparent that he was into me. He held my hand, bought me lemon shake-ups, sat under under the stars with me, and slyly slipped his arm around around me whenever the opportunity presented itself. There was something different about him, about the way he knew from the moment he saw me, and I finally gave in. . .
It was a rainy Sunday morning. I was taking pictures for the fire department's extrication training. As I was trying to get all the best angles of Keat opening the truck of a car with the "Jaws of Life", it happened. The truck popped open and a sign appeared reading "Will you marry me?". I snapped another picture and looked up from the camera as Keaton was getting down on one knee. I said "Yes" of course, and all the other fireman popped confetti guns. We kissed in the midst of the colorful paper making its way to the ground and to the cheer of firemen. It was magical. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in New Carlisle!
