The welcome social will be held at Hotel Emeline, our main designated hotel. Specifically, it will take place in the courtyard area, where our loved ones can gather the night before the wedding to enjoy each other's company.
Close family members and the wedding party will wear the same attire from the rehearsal dinner at Leon’s Oyster Shack to the Welcome Social at Hotel Emeline. The dress code is light-colored summer cocktail attire—think airy, elegant, and perfect for Charleston’s warm June evenings! For example: Women can wear flowy midi or knee-length dresses in soft pastels, light florals, or neutral tones. Men can wear light-colored dress shirts with slacks or linen suits in shades like light tan, and light blue. Guests and family members are welcome to add their own flair with cowboy hats, boots, and fun accessories! However, we kindly ask that you refrain from wearing white to these events, as well as dark shades like navy, black, and maroon to keep the light and summery aesthetic.
Blake created a Pinterest board for inspiration for both the ceremony and welcome social. Copy exactly as you see here: https://pin.it/3oQA84mw0
The bridal party will be dressed in light yellow, and the groom and groomsmen will be wearing light-colored suits. We wanted to share this with our guests to give you a sense of our wedding’s aesthetic and style.
We kindly ask that guests avoid wearing white (reserved for the bride) and dark tones like navy, black, or maroon. For this celebration, we would love to see everyone in light, romantic summer shades—think soft pastels, airy neutrals, and gentle florals that complement Charleston’s warm June charm. Thank you for helping bring our vision to life!
Yes, and we encourage it! Summer formal doesn’t have to mean heavy fabrics or layers. For women, flowy midi or maxi dresses in chiffon, cotton, or linen blends are both elegant and breathable. Soft florals, light pastels, and romantic neutrals are perfect for our wedding aesthetic. For men, light-colored linen or cotton suits, or dress shirts with tailored slacks, are ideal. Ditch the dark colors Think elevated coastal garden party—refined, light, and summer-friendly!
When planning your outfit, try to avoid heavier fabrics like velvet, tweed, wool, brocade, or polyester blends—they can feel hot and stiff in Charleston’s June weather. Instead, look for breathable, lightweight materials like linen, cotton, chiffon, rayon, or tencel. These fabrics will keep you comfortable while still looking stylish and beautiful
The ceremony will take place outdoors, embracing the natural beauty of the surroundings. Following the vows, we will continue the celebration in an elegant outdoor event space, sheltered beneath a permanent tent structure that adjoins the main house.
We are kindly requesting an unplugged ceremony, as we have the pleasure of working with our amazing photographer, Anne, who will be capturing every special moment. We ask that guests refrain from taking photos during the ceremony to allow everyone to fully enjoy the experience without distractions. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Yes—after the ceremony, feel free to snap and share! We just ask that you keep phones tucked away during the unplugged ceremony. This also makes it easier for our amazing photographer not to have to edit out phones in the aisle—thank you for helping us create a beautiful, distraction-free moment!

We recommend booking your flights to Charleston as early as possible to secure the best rates and availability. Ideally, booking at least 2-3 months in advance will give you plenty of time to plan your travel and accommodations. Additionally, we suggest checking flight prices weekly, as they can fluctuate frequently.
We kindly ask that all guests reply by May 9th to help us ensure smooth planning and to confirm attendance.
We kindly recommend that guests RSVP by mail using the card included with the formal invitations. Our wonderful wedding planners at PureLuxeBride will be managing all RSVP details for us.
The ceremony is outdoors on a grassy surface, so block heels, wedges, or flats are your best bet. However, the reception is concrete surface, easy to walk and dance.
