As you join us in celebrating our Nuptial Mass, we kindly request that our guests dress in a manner for being in the presence of our Lord. We ask that women follow the following guidelines for modesty: -No cleavage or midriff -Shoulders and back must be covered (you are free to wear a cardigan for the mass and remove after!) -Skirts/dresses must be to the knee or longer -Women at Latin Mass frequently follow the tradition of covering their heads during mass with either a hat or mantilla veil. This is not required, but is a beautiful tradition if you decide to partake! We ask that men follow the following guidelines for modesty: -Wear at minimum, a button-down shirt and slacks -No hats Thank you for expressing your love for God (and the happy couple) by your respectful demeanor and attire at mass!
Kailey's account... Matthew and I don't really know when we met. We went to the same church and same high school. We got confirmed together and shared the same calculus class. But to be honest, I had no clue who Matthew was until Freshman orientation at UT, oops! He claims to have known me long before that lol. Ultimately we introduced ourselves at UT and ended up living in the same dorm (Matthew lived directly above me)! I was friends with his roommate so the three of us hung out together often, sharing stale cafeteria meals, going to football games, and being way too competitive at ping pong. I always thought Matthew was kinda cute and I even remember laying in my dorm room telling my roommate that I could see myself marrying him! but we were never more than friends at that point. UNTIL... Covid happened and we hadn't seen each other for months! I suppose time away makes the heart grow fonder. School began and I conveniently stopped by Matthew's apartment any chance I could. Matthew and his friends decided to hand-craft a beer pong table so I offered to paint it. During my painting sessions, I noticed Matthew would hang around and keep me company. He would often walk me to my car and one day he gave me a sweet compliment about me looking cute in my glasses and a few days later he asked me to dinner. Matthew took me to Sunspot and we talked about our families and of course sports, in true Matthew fashion. After that first date we were practically inseparable. As time has gone on, we've gotten to share experiences of a lifetime: storming the field after UT beat Bama (go vols!), rating all the pizza in town (a dopo is top-tier), and going overseas on a pilgrimage to Italy and Israel. God has been a foundation in our relationship, attending mass, confession, and adoration has been super important in growing together. Matthew proposed to me on July 9th in a sunflower patch after going to Mass together. Take a look at that ring Matthew had designed for me on the RSVP page! We were officially betrothed at Holy Ghost Catholic Church on August 20th (my parent's wedding anniversary!)
