Keeneland Race Track
Unfortunately, there are no live races this time of year. However, the Keeneland Race Track is a beautiful place to explore year-round. You can walk the grounds, place some bets, and visit the Keeneland shop or schedule a tour!
Bourbon Trail
One of our favorite parts of Kentucky is exploring the beautiful countryside while sipping bourbon. There are 46 distilleries on the trail but some of the ones closer to Lexington are as follows: Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve or Castle and Key.
Distillery District
The Distillery District in downtown Lexington is home to some of our favorite breweries, bars and restaurants. We recommend visiting places like the Break Room, Goodfellas, Crank & Boom or the Burl!
Red River Gorge
Red River Gorge is a beautiful area to hike and experience the beautiful Kentucky fall. It is located about an hour and fifteen minutes southeast of Lexington for those interested in a day hike or getting out doors during our wedding weekend! Directions to Red River Gorge Park: Drive I-64 E for 16 miles. Take exit 98 for the Bert T Combs Mountain Parkway toward Campton. Continue on the Bert T Combs Mountain Parkway for 32 miles. Take exit 33 toward Slade.
Raven Run Nature Sanctuary
A local nature park in Lexington that is a favorite of Lizzie's and located near her childhood home. It's another area with a beautiful view of the fall foliage and a great lookout onto the Kentucky River!
Kentucky Horse Park
A beautiful equestrian park nestled amongst some of the beautiful horse farms for which Lexington is famous! Plus, it's close to our wedding venue!
