We’re Getting Married!

Eric and I planned a trip to California in February, 2022 to see some of our favorite reggae artists at a music festival called Cali Vibes! We spent the first few days exploring the beautiful coast of California and visiting an old friend we had not seen in a long time. We had a great time at the festival the first day, and when we woke up on Saturday, February 5th we were excited for another big day of music, and sunshine! Little did I know my whole world was about to change...we were walking along a boardwalk on the water and we stopped at a little walkout spot and were looking at the boats and soaking in the perfect day! Eric was asking me which boat I would like to own someday and we laughed and joked about it! Then he said "I think there is someone here to see you" I turned around (expecting to see my brother and sister in law) and to my absolute shock it was my all time favorite reggae artist HIRIE (Trish) along with her husband and daughter, I was in complete awe. We chatted for a few minutes and she told me that Eric had reached out to her months ago and asked her to be a part of this very special day. She then told me that he told her lots of things about me and our life together and she said she wrote a song for me and asked me if she could play it. Of course I was so excited to hear it, so she pulled out her guitar and sat on the pier and began playing the most beautiful song I have ever heard. At the end of the song, Eric got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I have never been so surprised and full of love and happiness in my life! I knew that Eric would come up with something unique but I had no idea it would be that elaborate, thoughtful, and nothing short of amazing! Eric and I have nicknamed each other sweetie, and so she named the song Sweetie after us! The remainder of the day was filled with happiness, reggae music, sunshine, and so much love!
