We’re getting married!

I’ve felt Keaira was the one special person that changed my life for a while. I remember telling my sister in 2013 at the last beautillion rehearsal that Keaira was the one for me and I had to make her mine. Keaira is the only person I could ever imagine being my wife and building a future with. We have literally grown up together and she has made me a better man. She is literally my best friend and always puts the biggest smile on my face no matter what. During my old job I would be driving all over the country and my main thoughts were always making it back home to Keaira. December 2019, I told my company and my partner I would literally work every day in December, even Christmas but I cannot miss New Year’s Eve. That is my love’s 25th birthday and I’m gonna propose. I wouldn’t say I am scared of marriage but in my head I felt I wasn’t ready. I always thought you had to have everything perfectly together. I was driving and the song Matrimony by Wale came on (a song that always made me think of Keaira) but the more I thought about it, in reality nobody has everything perfectly together and you can never fully be ready for something that is new. It’s growth and something wonderful that you should embrace. I had talked to my parents and closest friends and finally on the morning of her birthday while she was at work I just went and finally got a ring I had looked at for a while. After I bought the ring I was in shock I had finally done it. I felt relieved and sat in my car for awhile. I was filled with excitement that I was finally about to make my soulmate my wife. I sat in my car for an hour FaceTiming my closest friends and showing them the ring. I told them I was going to propose that New Year’s Eve night in Nashville. We celebrated her birthday all evening. As the day was coming to a close we went to a rooftop bar to see the fireworks. I got her two birthday cards because I’m extra.

The first card was pretty normal, the second card said to WIFEY at the end. Once she looked up from reading the second card at 11:59 I was on one knee with the ring. Some of our closest friends were with us celebrating and surrounding us with love. We watched the New Year’s fireworks and truly celebrated her and starting a new year that would turn into the rest of our lives together.
