Question

Why A (very fast) Wedding in the Woods?

Answer

We’ve gotten this question a lot :) Our family and friends already know we’re a little crazy, so we wanted everyone to join in the crazy with us! Think of it like a Destination Wedding! Northern NH is a beautiful location and Ogontz is the perfect destination for us. So, we added a few hours on to the travel time and added a few days to spend relaxing and celebrating together.

Question

Whats the cost to stay at camp?

Answer

$150 per person for the weekend OR $80 per person for a night The above cost includes lodging at Camp Ogontz and meals.

Question

How do I pay?

Answer

Payments can be made directly on PayPal at the following link: paypal.me/pools/c/86sWRGvJay If the link doesn't work, you can make a payment to campogontz2018@yahoo.com also through PayPal. Lastly, if you'd rather do it old school through cash or check, any payments can be given directly to Dana and Keaghan. Thanks for wanting to stay with us on our special weekend :)

Question

I can't stay over but I want to come to the wedding. is there a cost just to attending the wedding and the reception?

Answer

No, silly.

Question

I Can't Stay All Weekend, But I'd Love to Come for One Night. Can I Do That?

Answer

Absolutely! Obviously, we would love for everyone to attend and stay for the whole weekend, but we understand that work, travel plans, and life in general might not allow for such things. We just ask that you take the time to accurately fill out the RSVP on either this site or the invitation so we know which nights each guest will need accommodations and which meals you will be joining us.

Question

I wish to attend the wedding, but I just could not image staying in a cabin! Do I need to tell you that I’ll be staying at a nearby hotel instead?

Answer

Yes, please send us a message or give us a call to let us know you won’t be needing a cabin.

Question

What is there to do at Ogontz?

Answer

Ogontz has its own lake and a number of recreational features to offer. There are acres of mountain trails to explore, a boathouse with canoes & kayaks, a swim house with a floating dock, a wood fired hot-tub next to a waterfall, campfires, tennis courts, volleyball court, soccer/kickball fields, many quiet sitting areas to relax and hang out in, etc. If you’d like to bring along any field games you love to play, please do! We’ll have a bunch of different games, but you are welcome to pack your soccer ball, corn hole boards, baseball gloves, or bike if you’d like! There is tons of space to play!

Question

What Should I Pack?

Answer

The weather in later September should be relatively warm, however, the nights will likely be cool. We suggest checking the weather for Lyman, NH before you pack. We are planning for the ceremony and a few other events to be outside, so plan accordingly. Here is a short list of recommended items for the weekend: - Comfortable clothes for all sorts of indoor/outdoor activities (swim suits too) - Wedding Attire - Comfortable footwear - Bug spray & sun screen - Towels & extra blankets - We will have some blankets available, but better to be prepared. - Snacks – We promise to feed you well at meal times! However, if you get hungry between meals, you may want to pack snacks to hold you over. Just make sure to store snacks in a sealed container like a cooler to help keep critters away. - Water bottle - Any field games you love to play (bags, etc.) - Alcohol (or other beverages) for your cabin in case you want to have a drink while events are not going on.

Question

What is the wedding attire

Answer

Dressy Casual. The rest of the weekend is very relaxed. Wear clothes that you’re comfortable in but plan on bringing layers as the temperature during a single day can go up and down quite a bit in NH in September. The only rules at Ogontz are shirts and shoes in the dining room.

Question

There’s a lake!!! Can I swim in it? Can I fish in it? Do I need a license? Can I take out a kayak/canoe/rowboat? Are there life jackets available?

Answer

Yes! The lake is great for swimming and going out in small boats like kayaks and canoes. Large motor boats are not allowed on the lake. There is a swim house with big cement dock and floating dock, as well as, two small ‘roped in’ swim areas. You are welcome to swim the lake, but please be safe! You are free to use any and all of the row boats, kayaks, and canoes stored at the boathouse. There is also a collection of life jackets of various sizes (child & adult) that you are welcome to use. However, if you have your own life jackets that you know you’ll use or if you have very small children, you may consider bringing your own. There are fish in the lake and you are welcome to bring your fishing gear. If you plan to fish, please be sure to get yourself a license for the day or for the weekend. More information on fishing licenses can be found at https://wildlife.state.nh.us/licensing/3ways.html

Question

Can I bring my pet?

Answer

Unfortunately, Pets are not allowed on the property or in cabins.

Question

Can we bring children?

Answer

Yes! All children are welcome to any and all activities during the weekend. Should you choose to bring your children, please be aware we are not providing any child care. Also, alcohol is permitted at Camp Ogontz and all events, so please be mindful that bringing your children is at your own discretion. For cost and planning purposes, please note that there will be an additional cost for children 12 and up. Please contact us if you plan on bringing your children or have any further questions regarding this. While children are more than welcome, we do encourage those that are able to take a kid free weekend to do so. Camp Ogontz is a perfect venue for those looking to have a nice relaxing weekend.

Question

Can I (Do I need to) bring my own booze?

Answer

We’re planning on providing alcoholic beverages to our guests during activities and meals throughout the weekend. For the rest of your stay, you are welcome to bring whatever you like just like at a hotel or campground. There will be a refrigerator provided in the dining room where you can keep things cold and the camp has plenty of ice. Please be responsible for your bottles of alcohol, as there will be wedding attendees under the age of 21.

Question

How do meals work? I am a vegetarian/I have a nut allergy/My kid is super picky

Answer

All meals are served buffet style at specified times. Upon arrival, you will be given a schedule complete with meal times and any planned ‘organized’ activities. Coffee, decaf, hot water for tea, and ice water are available all day between meals. It is important to let us know if you are a vegetarian or have any allergies or other dietary restrictions. Ogontz cannot accommodate all diets at every meal, so if you have concerns please contact us. There will always be a vegetarian option and it is often easy for individuals who follow a gluten free diet to just avoid the freshly baked breads and desserts. So many of the Ogontz meals are prepared in a fresh, organic manor meant to bring out the flavors of the meats and vegetables versus cover them up with dressings or sauces. If you or someone you know is a picky eater, you may want to bring some of your own food to supplement if that someone does not like what is being served.

Question

What should I do when I arrive? Where should I park?

Answer

Check in starts at 2PM. Please check-in at the Post Office building located in the center of the camp right along Ogontz Road. We’ll have schedules for the weekend, maps of the campus, and some other goodies to give you when you arrive. Once you unload your belongings into your cabin, please park your car in the parking pasture. There will be a copy of the camp map in your welcome packet and signs pointing you in the right direction. The parking area in the central part of the camp is reserved for staff & guests commuting back and forth to the property and for camp vehicles. Speaking of camp vehicles – Yes, Ogontz does have golf carts, but we are NOT allowed to use them. They are for staff use ONLY.

Question

Should I contact Ogontz if I have a question?

Answer

NO, please contact either Dana or Keaghan with any questions you have regarding the wedding.

Question

Rules?

Answer

Yes, there are some rules at Ogontz which will be provided when you arrive and check in. Here are a few super important ones to follow… -No smoking, candles or any other kind of flames in or around the cabins or buildings. Fires are ONLY permitted in designated areas, including the fireplaces and wood stoves in indoor cabins. - Follow NH state laws (fishing, boating, drinking, driving, etc.) - If something isn’t working right or breaks, please let someone on the Ogontz staff know. It’s an old camp and the sooner they know, the sooner they can fix it! (ex. a faucet with a leak or a running toilet, a bed slat slips out of place, etc.) - Have a blast!
