Growing up just fifteen minutes apart, it took over 20 years for two soulmates with numerous mutual friends (and who-knows-how-many close encounters) to finally meet. As fate would have it, after Brian spent two years working in Colorado and Michigan, and Keagan spent four years at the University of Vermont, the two returned home at the same time to begin work at Hockey East. In what will be a surprise to no one, the 2015 Frozen Four is where their love story started. After a ~rocky~ first date in which Keagan did not speak at all and HATED the post-dinner movie choice, things could only go up from there. And up they went. Before long, the two were inseparable as Keagan began work at Brian's alma mater, Boston College, and earned her MBA. The pair's love grew as they drank beers at Parish Cafe II (RIP), skated at Fenway Park, and traveled the world from Naples, Florida to Ennetbürgen, Switzerland and several places in between. Brian initially planned to propose at center ice of TD Garden during the Hockey East championship, but history had other plans. On the day he picked up the ring from David Yurman (he had learned to only buy Keagan gifts at DY), he also cancelled the tournament. Despite the world coming to a standstill, plans evolved and, during a summer spent sitting in the same spot on the couch (when Bauer didn't steal it), a new proposal came to light. On September 26, 2020, Keagan and Brian woke up before the crack of dawn to race the sun to the summit of Camel's Hump Mountain in their favorite spot, Burlington, Vermont. After a most inopportune asthma episode, the two summited the mountain just as the sun rose. An even more inopportune slip almost sent the ring plummeting 4,000 feet down into Mad River Valley but made for a great video and an even better story. At 6:59 a.m. on the top of a mountain, MaGeegz was officially stuck with BriSmi.
