Things To Do

If you have time to explore greater Indianapolis, here are some of our favorite places around the area plus general go-tos!

Bottleworks District

850 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46204
, (317) 548-2001

For those of you who want to enjoy a bit of downtown Indianapolis, this is a great area for food, drinks and entertainment. Mass Ave is one of the most popular streets in downtown Indianapolis, so if you have extra time, it is worth the trip!

Urban Vines Winery & Brewery

303 East 161st Street, Westfield, IN 46074
, (317) 763-0678

Just 20 minutes north of the recommended hotels, enjoy this outdoor winery and brewery overlooking farm land.

Birdies Miniature Golf Course & Sports Bar

632 Indiana 32, Westfield, IN 46074
, (317) 706-4906

Like top golf but putt-putt. Close to Urban Vines, have some adult beverages (or kiddie ones) while playing a round of 18 holes. Gets busy on the weekend but evenings are a great time to go. Full restaurant as well.

Sun King Carmel

351 Monon Boulevard, Carmel, IN 46032
, (317) 843-6250

Enjoy one of the most popular local breweries in a food court setting. Three levels of delicious food options plus great local beer. For those who are not as excited about IPAs/Hoppy beer, Sun King is your kind of option.

Indianapolis Zoo

1200 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222
, (317) 630-2001

Who doesn't like a good zoo? The Indy zoo is easy to get to from anywhere in the area, so if you have spare time and want to wander around with the animals, here's your chance!

The Eagle

310 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46204
, (317) 929-1799

One of our favorite restaurants in Indianapolis, this is a must if you're going to be on Mass Ave anyway. Fried chicken and other southern comfort food favorites. Recommend taking an Uber/Lyft as parking around Mass Ave can be tricky depending on the day.

Metazoa Brewing Company

140 South College Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202
, (317) 522-0251

The best brewery in the city since it is dog friendly with a dog park! CJ and Wellie frequented this often with their humans when they lived downtown. While food is not served, they do allow you to order in or bring your own.

Keystone at the Crossing

8480-8520 Keystone Crossing, Indianapolis, IN 46240

If being out of town is your excuse to shop, then have at it! Keystone Crossings has plenty of shopping and restaurants to fill your time.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway

4790 West 16th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222
, (317) 492-8500

Though Amanda has never actually been, it apparently is a staple of Indianapolis. Feels like an obligatory add to the list for that purpose. If anyone does goes, you'll have to tell Amanda all about it!

Atomic Bowl Duckpin

1105 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, IN 46203
, (317) 685-1955

Located in the Fountain Square district which is also home to a number of breweries, Atomic Bowl is a popular duckpin bowling location. Call for reservations on the weekend.

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers

6515 Carrollton Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220
, (317) 257-2253

With a location in Indy and Carmel, this is a must for dessert lovers. While there is an entire restaurant, it is also perfectly fine to just go to the bakery part and indulge.
