ACCLIMATING TO HIGHER ALTITUDE: It is very important to take necessary steps to get acclimated as much as possible to the higher altitude of Colorado. Altitude sickness can be a pain to deal with, especially when traveling from the east coast where we sit at sea level compared to Western mountain terrain. The best suggestion we have is to please stay with us in Denver for at least 24-48 hours prior to heading west towards Aspen for the ceremony. Water is also a life saver, please prepare to drink more water than normal to keep your organs functioning at a healthy rate! Denver is about 5600 ft. in altitude, while Aspen starts at 9600 ft.
Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes, we are also planning to gather for a rehearsal/welcome to CO dinner. This will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday Sep. 13th, the night before the wedding. Tempranillo Restaurant - 165 Midland Ave, Basalt, CO 81621

Question

Should I rent a vehicle?

Answer

Highly recommended. Aspen is 4 hours West of Denver Airport, the main airport of Colorado.

Question

Can I fly directly into Aspen airport?

Answer

Yes, but keep in mind that this is a small airport with limited availability on flights. Also if you choose to fly from sea level into Aspen you risk the chance of getting sick from the altitude.
