As told by the Bride: In 2013, I traveled to Los Angeles with my mom & sister for the wedding of a family friend. My aunty who picked us from the airport mentioned there were a lot of Nigerians in LA and went on to say "Don't be surprised if you find your husband at the wedding!"(Little did I know this statement would apply to me). The day after the wedding, we went to a day party at the home of the groom's eldest brother. I remember seeing a young guy playing with all the kids and speaking Igbo fluently. As we were leaving, one of the groom's brothers stopped us and introduced my sister and I to other guests at the party & we all exchanged numbers. Among them included the young guy whom I noticed earlier. Later on that evening, I received a text from this same young guy. He told me he was a cousin of the groom. From there, with every text that came in I was shocked to learn how much we had in common. Fast forward 7 years later, I feel blessed and grateful to God for allowing our paths to cross. Chiedozie is my personal person whom God designed to compliment me. He has been patient and is well rounded, insightful, has a heart of gold and I'm excited to do life with him! As told by the Groom: I attended one of my dearest cousin’s wedding in California when I met Kelechi. I first took note of her at the wedding and was delighted the following day when I saw her again at my cousin’s house for the wedding’s out of town guest luncheon. She was leaving for the airport when she was stopped and introduced to me. We stayed in touch and with every conversation, we bonded and were surprised at how much similarities we shared. God has guided us and our love for each other evidently every step of the way from the day we met until today and will continue forever. Kelechi has my heart. She is loving, caring and everything I could have prayed for. I look forward to a lifetime with Kelechi and every blessing God has in place for us.
