The year was 2016 and it was a great time for smart phones. Snapchat was still cool. Venmo became a verb. Pokemon Go was introduced and instantly took over. You know what else was cool in 2016? Dating apps. So Kirstie and Casey were on Tinder, swiping right, and eventually matched. After some conversation, mostly about their shared interest in Harry Potter (and determining that neither party was being catfished), they decided to finally meet in person. And then they decided to meet a second time. And a third. For two people who got on a dating app with no intention of actually finding a relationship, they found themselves spending more and more time together. Buying Christmas presents for each other. Planning trips to Universal Studios together to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Then one day, Kirstie mentioned that she wanted to go to London for a very specific Harry Potter related event. Casey, who loves to travel and is very good at finding great travel deals, asked to tag along, found flights, and before they could really think about it, the trip was planned. And they committed to continue hanging out for at least the next six months. Four years later, they're still hanging out. But if anyone else asks, they met at the gym and bonded over their shared appreciation for yoga.
