The wedding ceremony begins at 2pm. Guests should plan to arrive to the Cathedral of Christ the King as early as 1:30pm, but no later than 1:50pm to be seated prior to the start of the ceremony. The ceremony will be an hour long.
The wedding reception begins with a cocktail hour at 6pm at Collier Hall and concludes with a sendoff for the couple at 10pm.
Due to a tight timeline at the Cathedral, there will not be a receiving line or opportunity to congratulate the newlyweds until the Reception. They will be so excited to greet you there! There is a 3 hour time gap in between the Ceremony and the Cocktail hour at the Reception. Visit the Things to Do section for ideas of what to do with the time between events. The Church and Reception location are 10 minutes from each other with plenty to do in the area. If guests want to hangout together in one nearby spot, the couple recommends Chattahoochee Food Works and anything in the top half of the provided list.
Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are most welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. Keep in mind when outfit planning for the day, you are attending a Catholic wedding ceremony and dressing conservatively shows reverence for the faith. While there are not specific guidelines from the couple, some things to consider are keeping modest necklines and dresses mid-thigh length or longer.
Of course it's springtime in Atlanta so you can expect it to be warm. The cocktail hour at the venue will be on the patio or moved inside if it rains. Keep an eye on the weather ahead of time and bring layers if you tend to get cold in big Churches.
The Cathedral has a parking deck directly across from the Church that makes parking easy! There are also easy drop off places if you are using a rideshare. Collier Hall should have plenty of parking for guests that is monitored. There are also alternative parking options nearby if it should fill up.
We are not providing any formal transportation for the events, but our ceremony and reception are taking place 10 minutes from each other with plenty to do in a small radius. There is ample parking for those who feel comfortable driving, and Lyft and Uber are great options for those who don’t. Please stay safe and default to a ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink. A lesser known rideshare for groups that is popular in Atlanta is called Fetii. Consider downloading the app ahead of time so you can split rides among larger groups easily (https://www.fetii.com/). This would be perfect for in between the ceremony and reception.
Babies in arms and children under the age of 2 are welcome at the reception. The couple is grateful for your understanding and requests that if you have any questions, to please reach out via the messaging portal. If you would like to have your children of any age at the Ceremony, they are most certainly welcome.
We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have any questions, please reach out via the portal.
The Cathedral does do a livestream of their weddings and a link will be provided on the website or upon request.
You can find hotel blocks in the Travel section. Bellyard is the trendy option within walking distance of a lot of fun activity in West Midtown. Hotel Granada is a historic hotel with charm.
At the Cathedral, handicap parking and entry is available on the Plaza, nearest the Church.
There will be light appetizers during cocktail hour, followed by a delicious buffet style dinner, and of course dessert.
Yes. There will be a full bar and non-alcoholic options.
