It was January 2017 in Manhattan. Vince had finally decided to take a night off from working long hours and Kaz was in New York visiting a mutual friend. Their first encounter? Well..let's just say the tequila was a plenty but sparks were not. It wasn't particularly memorable, most probably on the account of Kaz calling for shots all night. Neither of the two thought much of it as Vince's life was overwhelmed with work and Kaz was just starting to adjust to her new life into Toronto. The night ended with everyone adding each other on social media..and some karaoke of course. Fast forward a year and a half to 2018, Vince and his friend were visiting Toronto and he reached out to Kaz for recommendations. Kaz offered to show them around but ended up going away that weekend last minute. During that year Kaz visited New York twice and reached out to Vince to see if he and a few others were around, but again, they missed each other as Vince was busy plodding around the world with the rest of the horsemen. Until...the fateful night of Simon and Erin Wong's wedding on December 30th 2018, they caught up, had a few drinks, and danced the night away..... From that moment on, Kaz and Vince started the journey of a long distance relationship. As far as long distances go, this one was a pretty smooth one. They spent almost every weekend visiting each other - Vince flying to Toronto or Kaz to New York. Kaz knew the first weekend she spent with Vince that he was her one, and even told her friend that she would marry this man one day. The day she was even more certain was when he took her to a Backstreet Boys concert...yep..that sealed the deal! The moment Vince knew? Let's not lie..most probably the first full day he spent with her

Vince had planned to take Kaz to the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon festival on the 9th of October...and was hoping the proposal would be smooth sailing. The flight all seemed fine until the airline stated that they were unable to fly due to a TV monitor sticking out by 0.000001 cm! Vince started getting frustrated, he had booked a hot air balloon ride just a few hours after they were due to land and he couldn't risk delays. Kaz was confused....why was Vince getting so stressed? He is usually the calm one? and also....WHY IS HE WEARING A MAN PURSE??? Little did she know her ring was nestled safely inside! After a delay of almost 3 hours, being off boarded and re-boarded on the plane, they made it to New Mexico! On 1 hour of sleep, rushed it to the festival, lined up for 2 hours, only to be told their ride was cancelled for the day due to windy weather. They decided to line up the following morning at 3am to try and get on a standby balloon...it looked hopeful!!! They were calling out the names of the people just in front them...then finally....YES!!! "Kazhal and Vincent?" getting all excited they raised their hands.... "We have space for just one of you left - who wants to go?" EPIC FAIL. They admitted defeat, and passed up on seeing the sunrise from up high, and went on an afternoon ride instead. The setting couldn't be more perfect, as Kaz went into the balloon Vince got down on one knee, and asked her the question that made her the happiest woman in the world.
