Our story began on a dating app in late 2020. From the moment we started chatting, there was an instant connection, but our conflicting schedules prevented us from meeting in person or pursuing anything further. We eventually lost touch and each dated other people. Fast forward two years to July 2022, and fate brought us back together on the same queer dating app. Determined not to let this second chance slip away, we overcame nerves through phone calls and FaceTime chats before finally meeting in person. The chemistry between us was palpable from the very beginning—it felt like a scene out of a romance novel. We spent hours talking and getting to know each other, discovering a connection that felt like meeting your soulmate. Soon after, we shared our first date, our first kiss, and many other firsts as a couple. We are incredibly excited to embark on this journey of firsts together as a married couple 💜💚
On vacation for their one-year anniversary in the Smoky Mountains in Gatlinburg, TN, the scenery was nothing short of breathtaking. The cabin they stayed in was idyllic, complete with a hot tub perfect for relaxing evenings. Downtown Gatlinburg, with its picturesque views at the onset of fall, added to the charm of their getaway. Yet, the most unforgettable part of our trip was their visit to the Great Smoky National Park, where Johnni decided to propose. The ring, a stunning moss agate matching Johnni's eye color as Kaz had wished, held deep sentimental value. Nervous with excitement, Johnni attempted to propose several times during the park visit, only to realize they had forgotten to set up the camera or have the ring in their pocket. Finally, surrounded by the wonders of nature—a lush green landscape, the gentle rush of a nearby river, and buzzing honey bees—Johnni found the perfect moment. Their words, though simple, resonated with magic as they asked Kaz to marry them. Overwhelmed with joy, Kaz said yes, sealing their love amidst the beauty of the Smokies.
