Introduction To Website and Life

Hey! Thank you so much for visiting our website! This is where you will gain important information about the wedding, and about Christopher and Kaytlyn as they begin wedding planning. This will give you the opportunity to learn about both the bride and groom, and see how the wedding is progressing. Please check back, the bride and groom will keep the website updated as best as possible. At this time, our feelings about our wedding day are: excited, nervous, stressed, and anxious. We cannot wait to see everyone on our special day.

He Asked, I said "well, it's about time!"

Max was his Wingman

**Don't tell Chris I shared our story! lol** Most of you know Chris basically bought Max (our dog) and I a beautiful home after living together for one year in a box-sized apartment. Now, we have more space than we know what to do with, so what did we do? Well, like any other couple, we got another puppy, Ruby! Max and Ruby fill our lives with a lot of joy, and also headaches, but mainly joy! Now, why am I telling you this? Well, Chris used Max in the proposal which made it that much sweeter! Every day we take showers (separately, who cares if showering together saves water) and Chris usually takes his first. The mirror will fog up and he will write something sweet on there or something silly. Then later in the day, I will take a shower, the mirror will fog back up and I will get to read what he wrote, and I can write something to him. This pattern usually repeats itself about 2-3X a week, it does not happen daily. We have been together for 3 years, so anything to show we are thinking about each other is important. Sometimes it's things like "you're beautiful" or "i love you", and sometimes it things like "your feet smell" or "i hope you used soap". I mean, whatever works, at least we are making an effort and we are thinking about each other. Well on this particular day, I got a riddle. The riddle read "what barks?". I immediately thought, "Max barks"! Ruby does not bark, she very rarely makes any noise. So I went to Max and I pet him and loved on him and I was waiting for him to do something spectacular like speak, and tell me another clue or something. However, I saw something on his collar and it was this BEAUTIFUL DIAMOND RING! I turned around and that is when Chris asked me to Marry Him. I of course, said yes! I knew this day was coming, and it was so perfect. 3 years, 6 birthdays, 3 Christmas', 1 apartment, 1 house, and 2 dogs later, we are finally going to be Mr. & Mrs.!

I said YES to the Dress

03/24/2019

**Vulnerable post ahead** This process, I thought, was going to be the worst! As a female, without the 'ideal body type' I thought this was going to be the worst experience of my life, to be honest! I went to prom, and I have been in weddings, I know how hard it is to find dresses that fit the right way and do not show every single insecurity. In the past I have cried to my mother about these insecurities and have walked out of dressing rooms after having NOTHING fit. I was embarrassed to go shopping for a dress. It was a hard thing for me. I even went and tried on a dress by MYSELF just to have a moment alone to try something on without others there to see. My soon to be mother in law sent me a text the first day I went to try on dresses and told me "pick out a dress you love, I am buying". I got CHILLS! I immediately told her 'no', and that it was too much! She insisted and said she wanted to do this for me! I found my dress! It was not something that I had in mind or anything I really looked at online, but it is SO ME! For those of you who know me, when you see me in this dress, you are going to think, "that is so Kaytlyn". I am so proud to wear this dress, I have no insecurities in it and I feel fearless, and beautiful! The people at Davids Bridal were very body positive and there was no body shamming. It was a great experience. After I said yes, I was able to ring a bell. But before that, I was asked to close my eyes and make a wish about the future. I of course cried. And when I opened my eyes to ring the bell, the consultant was crying, my mother was crying, my aunt was crying, the bride next to me was crying and the brides friend was also crying. Brooke was not crying. She NEVER cries! It was a beautiful moment though. Something that makes this very special to me is that my mother was able to buy my veil, belt, headband, and undergarments, while my soon to be mother in law bought my gown. I cannot wait to share this experience with them.

The Wedding Planning Begins

03/30/2019-03/31/2019

This weekend has been one for the books! We celebrated Chris, the groom, turning 30 years old, and we were able to do a lot of planning and preparation work to get ready for the big day. Chris' mom and sister came to get a visual on where the wedding will take place along with the reception. Kaytlyn's aunts and cousins came and everyone was able to offer ideas and suggestions as well! That was very helpful, and insightful. The grooms and brides family met for the first time this weekend and everyone got along very well. It was as if it was meant to be! ALOT got accomplished this weekend and in only 160 days, we will be Mr. & Mrs. Smith! We cannot wait. p.s. I think I have talked Chris into a $ dance!! :)

Shower Time

4/22/2019

So this morning I woke up with an awesome text! I was asked to give thought to a wedding shower theme! I had a couple of options. My options were: 1. Cactus/Llama 2. Pink Bubbly 3. Luau 4. Western and 5. Farmhouse. Now many of you are thinking that I went with farmhouse, or pink bubbly. Well, for those of you who think that, YOU ARE WRONG! I did think "hmmm, I love farmhouse" but since my whole wedding is going to be themed "farmhouse", I decided to try something a bit new or different. The other half of you are thinking "she went Pink". Now, I do love me some pink! However, I chose Cactus Llama. How fun is that? I am so excited to see what my family puts together :)! I know it will be absolutely beautiful.

The Tux

June 9, 2019

Chris got his TUX! Chris has officially ordered his tux. I was completely shocked at the input and thought he put into EVERY. SINGLE. DECISION. He picked everything from his suit color, to his bow tie or tie, to whether his shoes are matte or shiny, to the cuff links he will wear on the day of the wedding. Chris is very passive and usually lets me make majority of the decisions, however, he took complete control of picking out his outfit for this special day. With every decision he looked at me and asked "what do you think"? or "is this okay?" I wanted his Tux to be exactly what he wanted just as my gown is for me. I cannot wait to stand next to him in September; I am so proud to call him my Fiance.

**Update**

6/11/2019

As the wedding is merely a small 88 days away, we are getting completely excited! I just wanted to check in and let you all know where we are at, at this time. Pretty much everything is done-ish. Dress is bought, Tux is ordered, grooms ring is bought (has not come in yet), cakes are ordered, photographer is booked, DJ is booked, Officiant is booked, flowers are ordered, alcohol is ordered, ice is ordered, caterer is booked, reception hall is booked, and venue is, well it is home. Right now, as I type, there are people working in the pasture (the Wedding venue) getting roads, fences, and landscaping completed. I am so EXCITED to see the finished product. Everything for the reception is pretty much ordered, booked, or forgotten about. (hoping nothing is forgotten about). Our family has really been on top of everything and they have done EVERYTHING to get us ready for the Wedding day. We cannot wait to see everyone. YAY!!!

68 DAYS!!!!

7/1/2019

Happy July 1st! We are very excited about our wedding in September. Everything is coming together beautifully! The pasture is looking great. The bride's family has spent days and many hours in the pasture cleaning around trees and getting everything absolutely stunning! Their hard work should not go unnoticed. They have worked extremely hard to make everything perfect! We are going on a family vacation this next week and we plan to talk with family about the bachelor and bachelorette parties, reception decor, and bridal showers! Life has gotten crazy, and overwhelming, but everything has definitely been worth it! Today stamps were ordered for the invitations and invitations should be going out soon. It is so hard to believe that the wedding is a mere 68 days away!!!!

*Checking In*

7/19/2019

Hello! We are approaching our wedding faster than ever! Time honestly flies, one day your 100 days out, and then you look up and you are 50 days away! (That is today!). I just wanted to check in and let you know how things are going with me, the bride, and Chris, the groom! Let me just say, we are very happy, and excited for September. With that being said, there are things that keep getting in our way, though, and have been challenging for us each individually. For me, sweets, Chinese, Mexican, and Italian food are causing real issues. I have trouble with saying "no". So if on September 7, my dress is held together with clothesline clips, just let it happen! lol For Chris, food is not an issue, and its not a skin care regimen, or even anxiety around being around all of our guests. Chris' hair is getting OUT OF CONTROL! lol His hair is SO THICK and CURLY I have never seen anything like it. I ask him every day what he is going to do with his hair for the wedding, and he looks at me, smiles that goofy smile, and runs his hands through his mane! That does not answer the question that was presented to him....what is he going to do? I guess that will be a surprise to me on our wedding day, as it will be to you! But, with that being said, it is not the hair I am marrying, it is the man! Things will be happening very quickly from here on out. I sent out invitations yesterday, 7/18/2019. I am hopeful everyone checks out this website, otherwise, I have just been writing things down for myself. I also have my bridal shower in Houston next weekend, which I am so excited about. I think Chris has agreed to a Bachelor party, which is great! I have definitely agreed to a Bachlorette party! ANY excuse for time at the beach! Things are happening! We are so excited to share this chapter in our life with each of you!

Newleywed Game Questions!!

7/21/2019

As the wedding gets closer, we thought it would be fun to play a game and post the results to the website to give all of our guests an idea of who we are and what roles we play in our home! Each question will have both the brides (mine) and the grooms (Chris) answers underneath, K is for Kaytlyn and C is for Chris. 1. Who is the better driver? K: Kaytlyn C: Kaytlyn (at first he said "me" but I reminded him he does not drive anywhere out of his commute to work and home...he changed his answer) 2. Who is more stubborn? K: Chris C: Kaytlyn 3. Who is the better singer? K: Kaytlyn C: Chris (he laughed) 4. Who is more likely to be running late? K: We both hate to be late, but I guess "More likely" is me, Kaytlyn C: Kaytlyn 5. Who said "I love you" first? K: Chris C: Kaytlyn 6. Who eats more snacks? K: Chris C: Kaytlyn (this caused a disagreement lol) 7. Who watches more movies? K: Chris C: "Me, well no, probably you". 28 DAYS! I REPEAT, 28 DAYS!!!

Hey! I am just checking in to explain how things are going. I am not sure if anyone reads this anymore, but I enjoy having something/somewhere to talk about my feelings as I prepare for a day I have planned since I was a little girl. I have been thinking a ALOT about my childhood, and just growing up as a female. It was hard! Not my life, I mean, it was easy, and I was definitely blessed. However, there were times when I would call my mom just about stupid things like: not having a Valentine, or a boyfriend, and I just did not understand God's plan for me. I have been looking back on that time in my life since wedding planning and I smile. I remember sitting in my bed in dorm rooms, or apartments, ALONE on Valentines Day. I remember my mom and dad driving up to meet me at La Cantera and eating with me for a Valentines meal so I was not ALONE. I was emotional. I remember my dad presenting me with diamond earrings, or diamond black Onyx rings, or Pandora charms. In those moments I know that he was not doing that JUST because he loves me. I look back and I understand why he drove 2 hours to meet me, he met me, to show me that I was worth the drive. I was worth far more than rubies or pearls. My dad helped me remember what I was worth, and always reminded me to never settle. To say that Chris and I just met and it immediately was cake walks and sunshine would be a lie. He had to work on understanding my love language as I had to work on understanding his. But again, as I look back on the past Valentines Day's as a single woman, I truly understand that this man, this human; God created him just for me. With the wedding quickly approaching, tension, and stress are at an all time high. However, it will be here before we know it. Chris is having a small bachelor party tonight (he agreed to after days of coaxing) and my bachlorette party is next weekend. I cannot wait to continue to celebrate being engaged, however, I am most ready to be married to a man I have prayed for.

12 Days

08/26/2019

I cannot begin to express the feelings that I am feeling as I go into this week. We only have 12 days until the big day and it feels like I have not seen Chris in the past 12 days. I have been working weird hours at work and going home to my parents on the weekend to get things ready for the wedding. It really has been hard on us. However, somehow, we remain stronger than ever. We are completely in love and ready to be Mr. and Mrs.. This has not been an easy process, but our family has made this easier than it would have been if it was just us planning. Wedding planning is no joke. Chris and I are excited to see everyone in 12 days.

For all the days along the way
