Being the maid of honor, Kaytlin didn't have love on the mind when she arrived to participate in her best friend's wedding rehearsal. But when Jack came out to direct the proceedings, Kaytlin leaned in and whispered to her friend: "Wow he's so cute!" There was electricity between them as soon as they made eye contact. During the wedding rehearsal Jack went around making small adjustments to the bridal party, telling them where to stand, how to walk, etc. But when he saw Kaytlin all he said was; "Maid of honor; you are perfect." While they frequently debate on who made the first move (Jack insists it was him) one thing is for certain. The wedding night that came next would be one to remember. It was a cool October evening where the trees had turned shades of gold and red. Music and dancing created an enchanting scene. Jack had switched roles from wedding coordinator to bartender. Although Kaytlin usually didn't drink, she frequently made stops by the bar to ask for a little vodka in her lemonade. Jack hilariously and awkwardly forgot to pour the vodka while talking to her. When she gently told him that he had forgotten, he said "I'm sorry I was lost in your pretty eyes." The rest of the night was filled with flirting fun and laughter. Imagine Kaytlin's surprise when Jack gave her a goodnight kiss on the cheek as she was leaving. The moment would be the spark that ignited a flame that would grow in both their hearts. Now they have decided to take the feeling of that night together with them forever into marriage.
Travel has always been a quintessential part of Kaytlin and Jack's relationship. Here are some short stories of some of the adventures they have had. Georgia --> South Carolina After the couple started dating the couple realized that they couldn’t keep making the commute back and forth forever. Kaytlin had saved money all through college and was able to purchase a house in South Carolina when she had just turned 22! It was a no brainer for Jack to move in with her. Iceland- While the original plan was to propose under the northern lights, the harsh weather of Iceland had other ideas. The couple's plane landed in a blizzard. Most nights low hanging clouds and harsh winds would cancel the multiple excursions Jack and Kaytlin had booked to see the lights. Iceland is known as "the land of fire and ice." The volcanos and glaciers that dominate the landscape give the country a fierce and savage beauty. The remote island in the Atlantic is home to MANY natural wonders that cannot be found anywhere else. One of the more remote waterfalls in Iceland is called "Bruarfoss." (pronounced Bru-ar-foss) The waterfall gets a unique blue color from melting glaciers up the river. While the water is fiercely cold, a bridge above lends travelers a gorgeous view of what is called Iceland's most blue waterfall. On the snowy banks next to the pristine color of the water, Jack got down on one knee and presented Kaytlin with a custom-made ring. (He was able to breathe a lot easier when she said yes!) You might have noticed their smallest dog is named Bru, to commemorate the moment they shared together. After Bruarfoss the couple explored the legendary black sand beaches of Iceland. Where they took some sand home to make into wedding rings! Germany- Kaytlin and Jack toured many spots in Germany, however the most magical spot they visited was Neuschwanstein Castle. Situated in the Fairy Forest (yes it's really called that) Neuschwanstein looks as if it's been taken right out of a children's book. In fact years after its construction, it would be the inspiration for Cinderella's castle at Walt Disney World. *Pictures in the gallery* Surrounding the castle are large fields of wildflowers, pristine lakes that you can swim in, and even a few breweries where you can refresh yourself after a bike ride. Which of course Jack and Kaytlin indulged. A fairytale beginning to a fairytale marriage! Austria- Having a masters degree in psychology, Sigmund Freud’s house in Austria was at the top of the list of things to see. Today the apartment is a museum about Freud’s life and his work. The lobby of the museum is a coffee shop where you can buy “Freudian sip” espresso! They also visited the town of Salzburg. Much like the bridges in Paris, young lovers will often take pad locks and clip them onto the bridge. Then throw the key into the flowing river beneath! To this day Jack and Kaytlin have a lock on the bridge going over the Makartsteg bridge in Slazburg! Costa Rica- Anxiously Anticipating May 2026 Canada- Anxiously Anticipating June 2026
