We met at our Saturday job at the gardening club when we were two awkward teenagers. Most days we’d eat lunch together, with Rhys sitting about two feet away from me. I assumed he didn’t like me… turns out he just hates crisps. And despite that red flag, here we are… getting married. Rhys asked for my number, and when I said I didn’t have my phone, he thought I was palming him off. Anyone who knows me will know I really am that forgetful. Luckily, a colleague already had my number and passed it on. Our first date was to Nando’s—thanks to my mum for driving me and not letting me back out when I got nervous. Rhys walked me to the station afterwards and “supposed he’d better ask” me to be his girlfriend. From the very beginning, it’s always felt effortless. Rhys made me smile then and hasn’t stopped since, and we’re so excited to celebrate our life together with the people we love.
