How did we first meet? : We met on the dating app Bumble when Courtney sent the first message. Very shortly after we switched to text messages and set up our first date. What was our first date? : We went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner and watched the Barbie movie in theaters afterwards (we know, very lesbian first date). Brooke immediately texted Courtney for a second date from the parking lot. When did we "officially" start dating? : We officially started dating in July of 2023. This date took place right before we were about to be apart for several weeks due to trips we were going on. We went to a Thai restaurant and later ended up at Crumbl Cookie since it was close by and we weren’t ready for our date to end. Courtney bought 4 cookies she didn’t even want and Brooke asked Courtney to be her girlfriend. Who said "I love you" first? : On our first date back together after traveling apart for a couple of weeks, Courtney invited Brooke over to a charcuterie picnic with music, lights, flowers, and wine. We played a "deeper" card game and spent hours talking about our hopes, dreams, pasts, families, and lives. Courtney told Brooke that she loved her, and Brooke immediately said that she loved her too. How did we get engaged? : Courtney took Brooke to run several errands while two of her (now) bridesmaids, Emilie and Rachel, decorated her apartment. Courtney had Brooke open the door to the lights and balloons-filled apartment and didn’t propose right away. Something to note about us, we love playing games and particularly love Phase 10. Courtney played a Phase 10 card with “Will you marry me?” on it and Brooke of course said yes. What are we looking forward to? : We are looking forward to building our home and building our family. We also really hope to do some traveling together! We currently live in a townhome in Durham with our three cats and three birds.
