Grant and Kaylin's love story began with a chance encounter in 2012, but the stars never aligned until Kaylin's senior year of high school in 2016. Sitting in the pep section with her friends at a basketball game, Kaylin received a text from Grant, who was on the other side of the gym, telling her she looked pretty (and giving her instant butterflies). That one little text marked the start of a deep connection that would continue to grow over the years. Grant later planned their first date as a surprise and hinted only to “wear something nice.” They had dinner at Montgomery Inn Boathouse, and Kaylin giddily held Grant’s hand as they approached the hostess, wondering if he felt the same way. Afterward, they walked across the Purple People Bridge, ate Cold Stone Creamery ice cream, and never ran out of things to talk about. They took the long way home and drove backroads belting their favorites: Jason Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down” and Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams.” By the end of the night, it was obvious that they’d found something special. It was the beginning of a summer full of laughter and memories, and every love song came true. By August, they knew they were soulmates. Their story was paused when Kaylin went off to college that fall at Western Kentucky University—4 hours from Grant’s home in Brooksville. For two and a half years, they kept in touch and hoped the right time would come. With two semesters to go at WKU, they decided to give long distance a try. The next year was spent driving back and forth from Bowling Green to Brooksville on the weekends and missing each other in between. Kaylin moved home after graduation in December 2019, and they have been inseparable since. They began building their home together a year later and moved in the following spring, along with Kaylin's cat, Ghost, who keeps things interesting. After three years together, Grant proposed on their front porch after returning from a nostalgic date night at Montgomery Inn Boathouse. Kaylin had known since that very first summer together that he was the man she wanted to marry, and of course she said yes! It was the 4th of July weekend, so they celebrated with fireworks on their farm. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day. They are so excited to celebrate their wedding with all of you!
