In the summer of 2022, Kaylin was fishing along the river near her parents’ home in Cascade. On the opposite bank stood a stranger with a yellow lab by his side. They exchanged a few casual words across the water before going their separate ways, thinking little of the brief encounter. When Kaylin returned to her car she found a note waiting for her, with a phone number and the name Dawsen. Life happened, time passed, and the note just stayed a memory. Two summers later, fate stepped in again. While fishing in Stanley, Idaho, Kaylin found herself thinking back to that day and decided to search the name “Dawsen” on Facebook. Knowing the spelling was uncommon, she was immediately drawn to a profile picture of a man fishing with a yellow lab. Convinced she had found the mystery fisherman, she sent a friend request. It was quickly accepted, followed by a message from Dawsen asking if they knew each other. As they talked, it became clear that this Dawsen was not the fisherman from the river in Cascade but something even better. What began as a simple, mistaken connection quickly turned into effortless conversation, laughter, and a bond neither of them expected. The Dawsen she found on Facebook, the one she almost didn’t friend at all turned out to be the one she was meant to find. From that unexpected beginning, their story unfolded naturally, leading them to fall in love. Our Little love story is our favorite and we will always be thankful for the Dawsen who left his number on my car in the summer of 2022.
