Blake was one of Gavin's (my brother) best friends. He made several appearances around the Petrak home in the fall of 2019 and always seemed to find an excuse to sneak away from the group and find me. We both worked on the stage crew for the History of Dating, the school play that fall. There, we spent every day together and became quite good friends. We talked randomly until COVID hit in March 2020. A few weeks after quarantine started, we called and played games almost every day. We started doing some outdoor activities together, such as a 12-mile bike ride and night walks! One night, Blake asked to stargaze on the trampoline, and it was there he asked me to be his girlfriend. That day was May 1st, 2020, and the rest is history! - Kaylin

We went on the Petraks’ yearly family trip to Colorado. I had the ring since the end of the spring and everyone knew I was planning on doing it on the trip. We had gone on the same walk up and around a lake in Breckenridge and on that walk is where I planned to do it. On our first morning up in the mountains we had decided to go early on a walk by ourselves. There is a dock on the far side of the lake and we had just finished up a devotion. Kaylin brought a childhood camera for some cool pictures on the trip and was taking a picture of the sunrise and when she turned around I was already down on a knee. - Blake
