What is the weather typically like in mid-May?

Answer

Mid-May at Luttrellstown Castle generally features mild, pleasant weather: Average highs: ~15°C/59°F Average lows: ~9°C/48°F Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds with a possibility of light rain (this is Ireland, after all!) We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap and comfortable shoes for walking on grass or cobblestones.

Is the ceremony outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, our ceremony will be held outdoors on the castle grounds. In case of rain, the ceremony will move to one of the beautiful indoor spaces at the castle.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We’d love for your little ones to join you on the trip to Ireland! However, all wedding events will be adults-only. If you’re traveling with children, we recommend Elisa Babysitting, a trusted local nanny service that provides private childcare at Luttrellstown Castle: elisababysitting.com/luttrellstown-castle-private-childcare-services.

When should I arrive in Dublin?

Do I need to renew my passport?

Answer

You should double check! While Ireland does not have a specified guideline, some airlines recommend/require that a US passport is good for 6 months from your arrival in the EU. Most passport renewal processes take 4-6 weeks, however you can have it expedited in 2-3 weeks time.

Where should we stay?

Answer

We recommend booking a room at the Castleknock Hotel, located less than 10 minutes from Luttrellstown Castle. We’ve reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate for our guests—please visit the Travel section for booking details and the discount code. Transportation will be arranged for all wedding events to and from the hotel. Please feel free to stay somewhere else in town if you'd prefer!
