My family takes a beach trip every year at the end of the summer to Port Aransas, Texas. This year, we invited Reagan’s family to join us. We spent the morning at the beach, enjoying the sun and the waves. Around noon, Reagan told me he needed to get gas and an energy drink, so I stayed behind with my mom and the rest of the family while he went off. Little did I know, he was actually setting up the most perfect proposal. Afterward, we went back to our Air B&B to shower and get ready for the boat ride for my “mom’s birthday”. When we arrived at a boat dock, I noticed my family had already beaten us there. As we approached the dock, I saw my family aboard a boat, and it was beautifully decorated with sunflowers, candles, and framed memories from our relationship. It was in that moment, as I stepped onto the boat, that I realized we were surrounded by some of the most important people in our lives. Then, Reagan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was everything I had ever dreamed of and more. Surrounded by love, with the perfect sunset in the background, I said yes—forever and always.
