Question

Our story

Answer

Our first date was on February 29th, 2020, at a local Mexican restaurant in Cedar Falls, where Kaylie spent many nights singing karaoke with her college roommates. We nervously got to know each other over chips and salsa. On the ride home, we stopped at a parking lot, and Adisen taught Kaylie how to drive his manual transmission car. She got it on the first try. After that, she taught him how to play trash. She won every round. He still thinks she cheated to this day. A few weeks later, the world went on lockdown, and we had to start the long-distance part of our relationship, taking turns going back and forth between Earlham and Cedar Rapids. Kaylie survived the Derecho in Cedar Rapids only a few weeks before moving back into her apartment at UNI. In the Fall of 2020, Adisen started attending the University of Dubuque for aviation, and we continued our long-distance relationship. Summer of '21, the long distance finally came to an end when we decided to move in together in Dubuque and have lived here ever since with our sweet princess Diamond(cat). In these short 4 years, we've overcome 2 totaled cars, career changes, and learning to find a balance between work, school, and our relationship. In January of '25, Adisen proposed to Kaylie, and on March 21st, 2025, we were married at the Dubuque County courthouse with just our immediate family. We decided to host a ceremony and reception one year later at Cedar Ridge Distillery, where we can have everyone we love come and celebrate the beginning of this chapter in our lives.
