Tyler was a sophomore in high school when I was a freshman. I went to my freshman homecoming on October 18, 2014, with friends, but without a date. It was only after the homecoming dance that I was told by multiple people that I had an admirer, who just happened to be a guy I knew nothing about. Days later, we started talking, and on November 25, 2014, he made our relationship official when he asked me to be his girlfriend. Prior to the dance, I had two potential homecoming dates drop-out on me, and my step-dad suffered a major heart attack. Tyler came into my life just when I needed him; he was certainly an answered prayer that I cannot express enough gratitude for.
Nearly exactly 6 years after Tyler 'fell in love from across the room,' on October 17, 2020, Tyler and I visited a pumpkin patch in Mississippi. I immediately fell in love with the stunning sunflower fields, and insisted we take photos in front of it. He asked two men who were waiting for their wives to assist us in taking pictures; however, little did I know, he had told the man his plan and requested that he video the next few minutes. Tyler told me to walk a little into the fields in front of us, and while I had my back turned, he got down on one knee. I am so thankful that God lead us to each other so early in life and I cannot wait to spend a lifetime together.
