FAQs

We’ve put together answers to some common questions to help make your trip and our wedding weekend as smooth as possible. If you need any additional details, feel free to reach out!
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

For the Welcome Party, the dress code is 'Summer Cocktail'. Think playful yet polished: colorful, flowing dresses for the ladies, and lightweight suits or dressy separates for the gentlemen. Please note: The Little Harbor Club requires jackets for men, but ties are optional. Denim and flip-flops are not permitted. For the Ceremony and Reception, the dress code is 'Lakeside Formal'. Gentlemen, suits and ties are a must; tuxedos are welcome but optional (the wedding party will be in tuxedos). Ladies, midi or floor-length dresses in late summer hues. Kindly note that cocktail hour may take place on grass, so we recommend choosing footwear accordingly.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We’ve reserved room blocks at The Colonial Inn and The Otis in Harbor Springs—check the Travel & Accommodations page for booking details. Additional lodging options, including Airbnb and VRBO, are also available. For convenience, we recommend staying near downtown Harbor Springs or Nubs Nob, where the reception will be held.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes, we’ll provide transportation from the ceremony to the reception, as well as return shuttles to downtown Harbor Springs and the two designated hotels. Two Shuttles will be rotating to and from Nubs Nob from 11 PM to 1 AM. If you are in an emergency for a ride, please contact the Nubs shuttle at (231)-838-2248. Please note that Uber and Lyft availability in the area is limited, so we recommend planning ahead if you’ll need additional transportation.

Question

What are some fun things to do in Harbor Springs?

Answer

Harbor Springs has plenty to explore! Grab a bite at one of our favorites: - Pond Hill Farm – A fun stop for wine and beer tasting, farm-fresh food, and even hiking trails - Pierson’s Grille & Spirits – A lively spot for drinks and casual bites downtown - Gurney's – Legendary sandwiches (cash only) - Little Juice – Perfect for your morning smoothie or cold-pressed juice - Turkey's – Great spot for breakfast or a pizza lunch - Toms Moms Cookies – Grab a sweet treat at the best cookie shop in town Shop around downtown Harbor Springs—bonus points if you make it to the farmer's market on Saturday morning! Get active by renting bikes/paddle boards through the Outfitter store in downtown Harbor Springs or golf at one of the great nearby options, such as Boyne Highlands.
