We met when we both worked at Buy For Less on Expressway in Oklahoma City. He worked in the cash office and I was a cashier. He was 20 and I was 16. Typically, we both worked nights which were sometimes slow, so we would goof off a lot. One day he asked me if I would go with him to WalMart to buy a Nintendo Wii, so he can resell it on Ebay. So we sat at WalMart for several hours waiting to buy the Wii and talked. Well, I was just a senior in high school and he was a college kid, who worked nonstop so we knew there were boundaries. We hung out a couple times after that with friend groups and he asked me if I wanted to hangout News Year Eve 2007. We both closed the store that night, so I agreed. We went to a party and talked about how we both have never been kissed at midnight and midnight came and went. Finally, we kissed and the rest was history. Since I was still in high school, we agreed we wouldn't pursue anything until I graduated. The night I graduated we started dating. My father was relocating jobs, so I knew I had to move to Kansas City, KS. It lasted four weeks and he came to move me back to Oklahoma after a great adventure in Colorado. We stayed together for 2 years and split, because we wanted different things. Eventually we found our way back to each other in 2010 on my 21st birthday. We dated off and on, moved to Arizona and finally decided in 2017 to be serious. We both knew we were each other soulmates. In 2018, we went to the Tucson courthouse with our moms and daughters and got our marriage liscense. We have built a beautiful life together with our girls and pup, moved back to Oklahoma, he became a pilot, and I got to quit work and pursue my dreams of being a pharmacist. We bought a house and continue to build our empire together.
August 31, 2o23 is our 5th anniversary. When we got married 5 years ago in Arizona, we agreed when the time and money was right we would have an actual wedding. We looked at a couple venues and saw our best friends get married on our street and decided, after asking for their blessing, we would do the same. We are excited to finally share our love with our closest family and friends. We are also very honored that Rev. Tyler Warren volunteered to officate. We understand that this is not the most traditional way, but we always tend to do things outside the box! We will try to keep the ceremony as "traditional" as possible.
What to expect? Expect a HUGE block party! We are blocking our street off from Middleborough to Aldwin. We will have music, food truck, and just a big bash! A map will be posted of where to park and how things will happen soon!
